Rory and Jess finally make it back to Stars Hollow the following day. When Rory comes into the house, she is greeted by her mom.

"My prodigal daughter has returned. Rory, it's been a whole year since I have seen you. Where have you been? I don't even recognize you anymore. We need to see each other more often you know." Lorelai leads Rory into the kitchen.

Rory is surprised to see Luke in the kitchen. "What are you doing here, Luke? Taking a day off?"

"Yeah, I let Cesar handle the diner today. So how was Philly?"

"It was interesting. New vibe. I really like it. Jess is right now at the diner cleaning up. He said he'll be by later to help move." Rory says.

"Actually, we have a surprise for you. Come into your room." Lorelai leads Rory to her room and finds it almost empty. All of her books are gone. Clothes are gone.

"Luke and I have moved you in already."

"Are you serious?!? Mommy, Luke. Thank you so much."

Lorelai whispers "Super proud," which elicits a giggle from Rory.

Rory's cellphone starts to ring. It's Logan.

"Hey, Logan."

"Hey, Ace. How are you?"

"Great. I see you survived your bachelor party." Rory laughs.

"Yes. I had to tame down Finn's suggestion of BASE jumping. I want to be alive for the kid."

"Yes. Stay close to the ground for Bean and Odette. When's the wedding?"

"It's on Valentines Day. So anyway, I'm calling to see how is the baby?" Logan asks.

"Oh, the baby is great. On New Years, I felt the baby kick for the first time. It was great to feel. I wish you were there to feel it."

"Oh my gosh, Bean kicked?" Logan was in awe.

"Yes Logan. Bean kicked."

"I wish I was there, Ace." Logan's voice was full of emotion.

"So do I Logan. So do I."

Rory feels her baby bump as Bean kicks some more.

Rory enters new apartment and is met with a surprise. A brand new crib with a white bow. "Mom?"

"Not from me, Rory. All Luke and I did was put the crib together and put the bow on. But there's a card."

Rory walks towards the crib and pulls out the card.

"Hey, Ace. Merry Christmas. I saw this crib and I thought it would be perfect for Bean. I hope you love it. See you soon. Love, Logan."

Rory looks up with tears in her eyes. "Logan?"

"Yeah, he shipped it to our house. And asked me to not tell you. Just to set it up at your apartment when you move. I really believe he's gonna be a great father, Rory." Lorelai goes to hug her daughter.

"Yes, mom. He is."

Rory sits on the rocking chair and calls Logan.

Logan picks up the phone. "Hey, Ace."

"Logan," was all that Rory could say. Her emotions welling up.

"So you got the gift?"

"Logan, I don't know what to say. It's beautiful."

"Well, when I get there next month, we can go shopping for more stuff."

"Logan, it's becoming real. We're having a baby." Rory's voice is filled with emotion as she says this.

"I know. I just wish I could experience everything with you." Logan says.

"I wish so, too. But you will be here when it counts."

"I promise. Hey, Ace. I have to go. My meeting is about to start. I love you, Ace." Logan whispers.

"Logan, I love you too." Rory hangs up the phone.

As she does, she looks around and is surprised to see she's not alone.

"Jess," she whispers.

"Hey, Rory. Was that Logan?" Jess asks.

"Yeah. He bought me this crib for Christmas. I just wanted to call him to say thanks."

"Hmm. That's nice of him. So you're all moved in, huh?"

"Yeah. Luke and mom did it. What do you have in your hand?"

"Dinner. I figured your fridge would be empty, so I got us some burgers and fries."

"You're too good for me, Jess." Rory stands and gives Jess a hug.

As they eat, Rory opens up to Jess about an idea she has been hiding for months. "Jess I think I want to pursue my masters. I want to apply for some online courses. What do you think?"

"That sounds like a great idea. Study journalism?"

"Yeah, maybe. I just don't want to be an editor of a small town newspaper all of my life. I have always had big dreams."

"Christiane Amanpour?" Jess recalls.

"Yeah. I want to get back to that."

"Well go for it. I would love to see you do it. I know it's what you have always wanted."

"Yeah. And if that doesn't work, the headmaster at Chilton offered me a teaching job."

"You would be a great teacher. You tutored me."

"Yeah. That didn't end so well." Rory laughs.
