Rory is restless through the night. She just misses Jess.

Around 11 PM, Rory is in the living room of her apartment watching infomercials to lull herself to sleep. Someone knocks on her door.

Rory opens her door and standing in the doorway with his signature crooked smile is Jess.

"Jess," Rory grabs him and kisses him deeply.

"Hmm, I really love when I surprise you."Jess says.

"I love when you surprise me also. Come on in." Rory leads Jess into her apartment.

"Rory, why are you still awake?" Jess asks concerned.

"Couldn't sleep. I guess I have gotten so used to you in my bed." Rory leads Jess on the couch, so she can sit on his lap.

"I had a hard time sleeping without you too." Jess pulls her closer to him. "So I was going to sleep in Luke's old apartment tonight. Come to find out the place is empty."

"Yeah, Luke emptied it out so that we can move some of the furniture in there. We will have a place to stay when we visit."

"Are you ready to move?" Jess asks.

"Yeah, I am ready. I never planned to stay." Rory says. "I'm just anxious about the move."

Rory and Jess sit together in silence. Each occupied with their own thoughts.

Jess can tell Rory is almost asleep when he stands up and leads her to the bedroom. "Come on, sleepyhead."

Rory wakes up early in the morning. The sunlight creeping through the windows. Rory doesn't want to move but the baby had other ideas.

Rory tries to quietly get up off the bed but Jess wakes up and hugs her tighter. "I have to get up. I have to pee."

Five minutes later, Rory comes back to see Jess sitting on the bed. "What are the plans today?"

"Well, we can't move this stuff to Luke's apartment until the diner is closed. I was just gonna help out with the diner for today. You?"

"Go help at the Inn. I guess." Rory sits on the bed. "I don't want to leave this room."

"We don't have to." Jess says throwing his arm around Rory.

Just then, Rory's cellphone rings. It's her mom.

"Hey, mom," Rory answers.

"Hey, Rory. What are your plans for the day?"

"Nothing set in stone, why?"

"Because we need to go shopping. I need to buy stuff for my first grandchild. Spoil him endlessly." Lorelai says enthusiastically.

"Mom, you do know we have a lot of stuff already, right?"

"Hey, a baby can never have enough. I'll meet you at Luke's. Have breakfast then we could go shopping."

"Ok, mom." Rory hangs up the phone and looks at Jess. "I guess our plans of staying here and doing nothing has been put on hold."

"Shopping?" Jess asks.

"Yup. And knowing my mom, she will probably drag me through the whole mall." Rory laughs.

"Well then we better get started."

When Rory and Jess enter Luke's, it's packed with the usual morning patrons. Rory sits at a table waiting for her mom while Jess gets behind the counter to help Luke.

Fifteen minutes later Lorelai breezes in. "Oh, Rory, my loinfruit. And the fruit of my loinfruit. How dost thou doeth?"

Rory is at one of the tables eating blueberry pancakes and scrambled eggs. "I doeth just fine. So does little Sir Richard. Dost thou want to sit?"

Luke and Jess exchange looks of disbelief when hearing this exchange.

"I hope you have some comfortable walking shoes on. We have so much to get for that baby. Crib, changing table, bouncer, baby carrier, do you already have a car seat? You should get another one. Diapers, onesies, little baby hats. This baby is going to have more stuff in his closet than Prince George does in his palace." Lorelai says.

"Mom, I have a lot of stuff already. We don't need to empty out the baby store." Rory says exasperatedly.

"That's my first grandchild. He will get three of everything. Do you know your color scheme for the baby?"

"Well, it's a boy. So blue?"

"So not green?" Lorelai asks, worried.

"I thought green was the new pink. Never bothered asking what was the new blue." Rory laughs

Later that day, Rory and Lorelai come back from Hartford with the jeep laden with baby supplies. They leave the Jeep in the driveway for the guys to empty it out.

They catch a ride back to Luke's with Babette. But when they pull up by the gazebo, Rory's eyes start to fill with tears.

Standing under a big tent are the residents of Stars Hollow. Hanging is a sign that reads "IT'S A BOY!!!"

It's Rory's surprise baby shower.

"Mom, did you do this?" Rory asks.

"My job was only to distract." Lorelai smiles as she sees the tears streaming down Rory's cheeks.
