Hello, Hello?
In the midst of the cold, cold, lonely night,
Where the wolves howl and growl and bring fright.
As I lay down cozily in my warm bed,
My phone rang from the table, placed near my head.Questioningly, I sat up and reached for the device,
Checked who was calling, then my hopes began to rise.
"It was her! It was her!" I said while I was dearly joyed.
So without a doubt I answered, so she won't feel annoyed."Hello, hello?" I greeted with full of energy,
But silence filled the air as if there's a mercenary.
And then I heard sobs and I immediately knew,
She's in great pain again, and there's nothing I can do.I wonder how I endured listening her cry,
Even though I know who's always the reason why.
It was her boyfriend once again, I'm sure,
'Coz no one will hurt a girl that's pure. With a heavy heart, I listened to her hiccup,
As she wails about their fourth break up.
About how she can't live without him,
About how she wanted to be with him.I tried to talk her out and told her to stop,
Stop crying and be logical about the problem atop.
I told her to try to fix what they had,
For a three year relationship shouldn't end so sad.She stopped crying and said I was right,
That she should understand and continue to fight.
With a calm, raspy voice, she said her farewell,
As I clutched my chest like a broken piece of shell. If only she chose to be by my side,
She would never cry, and I would never hide.
The hidden feelings I kept for long,
Now forgotten and covered by my sad song.So I lied down in my warm, comfy bed,
As I stare at the ceiling, filled with dread.
I wonder when this pain of mine will end,
"Well, maybe never, 'coz I'm her bestfriend."And as the evening passed in a snails' pace,
I wiped all the tears that streamed my face.
And as the wolves of the winter howled in the mountain,
I knew I wasn't alone, because I knew they're in pain.

Fun Fact:
This was one of the poems I wrote out of the blue. Like, something that just popped out of my mind.
