Lasting Hope In A Single Spark

In the midst of the darkness, ever so teeming,
Where pain, grief, and anguish is looming,
Appeared a light, so small, so frail, but warm,
A light who is formed to fend off any harm.

From a single, small, glowing white light,
Came another, and another, all full of might,
From one, became ten, until a hundred has shined,
All ready to share the warmth and love to mankind.

Then those light began to spread across the lands,
All helping those who need with open arms and hands,
While they scatter, they began to forge more light,
To make sure that there would still be good and right.

In the land of coffee, came lights in bundles,
They wielded with them pure joy in bright candles,
And from their works, twenty-four had emerged,
Twenty-four differences, but love is what they forged.

Now those twenty four are ready for their journey,
Ready to face the future that's a bit blurry,
But what's clear to them is the initiative to mark,
And show a lasting hope in a single spark.

Fun Fact:

This poem is inspired by my reflections in a school retreat I attended to. Making me realize that we can be a lasting hope in a single spark of light.
