Chapter 14- interviews

I stare at myself in the mirror, smoothing my shirt down and smiling. Shawn and I had our first interview of the tour today so Jess had helped me get ready. I'm not going to deny it and without sounding big headed I actually looked amazing. We headed out into the cars and I called shot gun of course, with Andrew driving us and around five minutes later Shawn slid into the back seat with his headphones in and his head bobbing up and down. It was extremely funny.

"So, are you excited?" Andrew asks me,

"I'm nervous but at the same time I'm super excited." I answer truthfully, letting a small giggle escape from my lips.

"You'll be fine, trust me I've worked with many people and I for one, know that you're a natural."

I offer him a smile and he gives me one in return switching the radio on. I squeal excitedly as the station is playing Ed's new album, Divide, and the current song playing is "Barcelona" and of course as I had the whole album on repeat since it came out I knew all the lyrics and started to sing along. Not too long after Andrew and Shawn both joined in making all our smiles grow wider and throughout the entire car journey we had a carpool karaoke making the drive seem fairly short and I can for sure confirm that we all had the biggest goofiest smiles on our faces. When Shawn was around me with other people he wasn't all that bad, the only problem is that when we were alone he could completely switch.

We briskly head into the building where the interview was being held and after being greeted and introduced to some important people we headed over to the dressing rooms just to touch up on any make up which only took five minutes which meant that Shawn and I were placed on the side of the stage waiting to be called on. As the TV presenter continued talking about whatever it was I start to bounce on my toes feeling the nerves hit me, what if I mess up? What if they don't like me? What if I say the wrong thing? I continued to pace about and the next thing I know is that my name has been called on and am being pushed to follow Shawn. Taking in a deep breath I walk onto stage, feeling my mouth automatically smile as the audience cheered, I loved this feeling. I give them a wave an then head over to sit next to Shawn who was smiling all around.

"Hi guys! It's great to have you here," the interviewers says addressing us

"Thank you! It's amazing to be back," Shawn replies

"Thank you for having us!" I say, my nerves vanishing, this is just a regular conversation and I really didn't need to fret.

"So, the tours starting so soon, are you guys excited?"

"Totally!" Shawn and I both exclaim and look at one another and laugh realising that we had said it at the exact same time

"I just can't wait to get back out there and just perform. It's a feeling I've been craving since my last tour had ended," Shawn truthfully explains.

"How about you Eva? It's you're first time going on tour, how do you feel?"

"I mean i'm crazy excited but this all seems so surreal, I still feel like i'm going to wake up and it's going to have been an amazing dream!"

"Haha," the interviewer replies "It must be! How did all of this happen, was it one of those overnight fame things?"

"Um," I say fiddling with my ring thinking through my answer "This all really started when I started to post covers on my YouTube and Instagram account and more and more people started to like my stuff and my fan base just started to grow which was crazy and then what was even more crazy was releasing my first album and then from there I got an email asking me to be the opening act for Shawn, which again is amazing! And here I am now,"

"That is truly awesom, and I still love all the songs from you're album it's crazy that one of your songs went to number one Eva! Both of you are incredible having achieved so much at such a young age!"

"Thank you, that's so sweet of you!" Shawn and I both say again at the same time making us, the audience and the interviewer laugh once again.

"So, both of you on tour. Can be smell a new couple?"

"No new couple, not yet anyways!" Shawn says thankfully so I don't have to answer that because I know if I did I would mess up.

"Did you hear that ladies and gentlemen? He said not yet, you all need to jump in and get them whilst you still can! It's been a pleasure to have you here, thank you guys so much and all the best for the tour! And I will see the rest of you after the break."

The lights go down and Shawn and I walk off, Andrew coming to give us both a hug.

"Well done guys, you handled everything really well!" He says smiling at us, "See Eva I told you that you are a natural!"

For the next ten minutes or so we say our goodbyes to the team that worked at the place of the show and headed to the tour bus which was now parked outside and was waiting for us. Time to get this whole tour show on the road....on a bus, with Shawn for the next 9 hours. Oh so lucky for me...not!
