Chapter 17-

Seconds later Shawn returns with his phone in his hand as he talks to who I'm assuming is Andrew. I give him what feels like the millionth smile this morning and continue to watch Netflix on my laptop, there was a limited number of things we could do on this bus but I wasn't complaining at all. Give me Netflix, something to cuddle and food and you would have an extremely happy girl. I am distracted from my thoughts when Shawn seats himself next to me.
"We're close to the hotel near the venue for today's show but I understand if you're not up to it an I can ring Andrew and we can always re-schedule." He says, his gaze burning holes into the side of my head. I give him a smile, truly grateful for his kindness and the gratification of course makes me throw myself at him with my arms wrapping around his neck and head placed on his chest. After hesitating for a second he wraps his strong arms around my waist making me feel safe and comforted. I giggle to myself at how fast his heart was beating, maybe because of me?
It's cute nonetheless.
"Thank you Shawn, but it's okay. I'm happy to perform." I reply, stepping out of the hug and giving Shawn a smile.
I feel something buzz in my pocket, the object being the phone, and take it out to see who was ringing me.
I feel a lump come back in my throat and as though the air was sucked out of my lungs upon seeing the caller ID.
It's Noah.
I look up at Shawn who has a look on his face that radiates confusion and concern. I tilt my phone towards Shawn so he can see what's going on.
"What do I do?" I ask, my heart beating fast as though I had just finished running a marathon.
"Answer it,"
"What? Are you sure Shawn."
"Answer it but put it on speaker,"

Obeying what Shawn said I swipe across answering the call and immediately put it on speaker remaining silent afraid to talk. I look over to Shawn and his lips are pressed in a thin line and his arms crossed over his chest waiting for something to happen. The line remains silent for a few painful seconds and just as I hesitate to end the call Noah breaks first

"Eva," he says, his voice hoarse as though he'd been crying.

"Noah," I reply in a soft voice sounding almost relieved, what was I doing?! I can't feel sorry for him, right?

"What are we?" He asks, his voice quieter almost a whisper. I could tell that he was struggling to get his words out but I didn't want to forgive him that easily. And I wouldn't let my sarcastic self slip away either...

"I don't know human?" And as soon as I say that I see Shawns hand clamp over his mouth and eyes shut, trying to contain his laughter.

Noah lets out a small chuckle, the one I had always loved. The chuckle I still love, I still love him...

"And I love you too Eva,"

"I said that out loud didn't I?" I glance over to Shawn and see any previous humour on his face has disappeared and had been replaced with another look. One that was unreadable to me.

"Well I heard it so yeah I guess you did,"

"Noah," I say again, at a loss for words.

"Eva, what you said yesterday did you mean it? About me now being your ex?"

"Honestly, I did at the time. Noah why did you do it, cheat on me I mean."

"Eva, honey I didn't!" I can hear the desperation in his voice and I want to believe him, I really do but something still seemed off.

"You were with another girl Noah,"

"And you're currently with another boy,"

"Touché," I simply reply looking over to Shawn, I catch his eye and try to smile at him but he ignores me. I guess someone has gone back to their normal selves.
