It was true. He did wear a tux and he looked great. When he greeted me at the front of the restraunt he wanted me to meet him at, he gave me a sexy smile. My heart did three front-flips. He grabbed my hand and pulled me close. He hugged me tight and I nestled my chin into his shoulder.

"Lucy...I-I was going to tell you how I felt a long time ago. I was just so scared of how you would react," he whispered into my ear. I smiled and said I felt the same way as we pulled away and walked into the restraunt.

The time we spent together that night was wonderful. It was perfect. Natsu of course ate a lot and he didn't talk all about himself the whole time. He didn't order the "All you can eat extravaganza" but he did order a huge plate of chicken legs.

"So, I hear Erza's new bestie?" He cracks a smile.

"Uh, yeah I guess. I mean we're living together now," I say as I pick up another bite of my chicken salad.

"I guess you could call that a never ending sleepover then, right?"

"I never really thought of it that way but, yeah. I guess you could call it that!"

The dinner was amazing and, surprisingly, he actually paid the bill...with his own money. When we left the restraunt, it was too late to call a cab back to my house so we just walked slowly. It was the first time ever that I was not expecting him to blow something up in front of my face and it felt reassuring. Every time I'm with Natsu I just think of that first day we ran into each other, saving my conscience from the fake Salamander.

By the time we got back to my house we could see that the lights were on and people were inside talking loudly. He let go of my hand which immediately turned cold.

"I guess I'll see you tomorrow, Lucy?" I forgot. Tomorrow we go to work.

"Oh, yeah. Definitely," I say in return. He hugged me tight, his warmth overtaking my body. Almost like I was in a sauna. He didn't kiss me, but I wasn't surprised at all. I wouldn't either, not on a first date at least. As I opened the front door of my house I looked behind me to see that he was already gone.

Inside, Erza and Juvia were playing with a set of cards. Erza was the first to speak, "Hey, Lucy! How was the date?"

That one question led to a whole explanation. I told her and Juvia every detail of the night. All about how he was destructive but still ate a lot like he usually does. I told them that he actually paid with his own money. Juvia looked surprised but not Erza. Erza explained that Gray told her that he'd been saving up two weeks before he even asked me. Also, that if I had said no he would of bought himself and Happy a whopping meal of cheeseburgers.

After my explanation of the night, Juvia looked down at her set of cards and said, "Do you guys know why Gray doesn't like me?" Erza and I said no, but by the look of Erza she knew something.
