It was midnight when Tom finally kicked them out of the Leaky Cauldron. Alexander supported Laurens while Mulligan and Lafayette skipped a few feet ahead of them, arms around each other's shoulders.

"You know?" Alexander said, swaying slightly. "I've never had a group of friends before, until I met you. Just good, old Benny." He frowned. "Where is he?"

"That sounds like a personal problem, Hammy," Laurens giggled, hiccuping a little. His eyes were unfocused as he stared up at the moon.

"Its funny, though," Hamilton continued, trying to count Laurens's freckles at the same time, but losing track. "I could die tomorrow and never see the glory of winning the war. If we win."

"We'll win," Laurens said confidently, kicking at a stone. "The good guys always do." He called to the two men infront of them. "Hey, Mully! Laf! Come here! We got some stuff important..uh..."

"Get over here now!" Alexander called helpfully, waving his free arm.

Mulligan stomped over, looking sulky. "I was having a great day dream and you pixies had to ruin it," he muttered.

"Its night," Laurens pointed out.

Lafayette muttered something under his breath. He was so drunk, he was speaking only French and no one knew what he was saying.

"I'll ignore that if it was offensive," Alexander said pleasently. "Laurie and I were talking about death."

"No, we weren't!"

"Okay, I was. And what if we died? Would you still join and fight in the war against Lord Voldemort?"

Mulligan wrinkled his nose. "Yeah, I guess I would. Life is life and death is death and..." he trailed off. "I had a point."

"You're nose is pointy," Laurens said, pointing.

"That must have been it. Yeah-WAIT! No it wasn't!"

Lafayette snorted. "Ah, oui, oui, mon ami." He hooked his arm around Mulligan's and tried to skip, but the other man shook him off, still trying to remember his point.

"Oh you're to drunk to remember," Alexander said, lazily. He yawned. "I-I'd better go catch the Knight Bus. I don't think I can Apparate like this."

Laurens laughed. "Sure you can! I do it all the time. Its perfectly safe."

"Has anything happened?"

"I can't remember!" He and Lafayette guffawed. Alexander began to turn away but Laurens grabbed his arm and leaned in close. "Alex, if you really want to help defeat...You-Know-Who, I know the best way for you to help." His eyes shone with excitement. "I'm a part of this secret organization Dumbledore set up."

"Dumbledore!" he grinned. "I haven't hearnd anything about him in a long time."

"Yeah, the Ministry doesn't even know about this group. Its a bit for the rebellious type, who don't mind bending a rule here and there. Real neat stuff."

Mulligan and Lafayette were both nodding in agreement. Through his drunken haze, he felt it was the place for him. "What is it?"he asked. The name was whisphered into his ear. Alexander repeated loudly, "The Order of the P-?"

"SHHHHH!" The three men shushed him frantically.

"Don't say it out loud!" Mulligan warned. "Death Eaters could be listening."

"Good thing I only told him the name," Laurens shrugged. "I would really be bad if I told him the meeting place was at-."

"SHUT UP!" Mulligan bellowed. "Man, I really do think we should go home before one of you lets something slip out of your mouth and kills us all."
