A week after the wedding, Alexander was catching up with his friends at their favorite place.

"You know?" Laurens slurred, already on his third drink. "When I'm old, I'm gonna buy the Leaky Cauldron then sit around and chat about the glory days with the other geezers."

Alexander laughed. "And we are the other geezers, am I right?"

"Man, have a drink," Mulligan said to Alexander. "You've been working like mad. Relax.

"No, Eliza wouldn't want me to come home as drunk as you."

The other men groaned. "I keep forgetting the tomcat's married now," Mulligan said, with a shake of his head. "You're less fun."

"No its not-."

Lafayette held his glass in the air. "I have seen many wonders but if our Alex can find love-"

"-there will be hope for us after all!" Laurens crowed, tilting back in his chair.

"Let us have another round-."

Hamilton jumped up. "Why, if it isn't Aaron Burr!" He enthusicatically ran over to greet the man as he entered the Leaky Cauldron.

"Burr..." the others growled.

Aaron looked uncomfortable. "I'm sorry I couldn't make it to the wedding. Congratulations, Alexander."

"No problem at all!" Hamilton said, bringing him over to the table. "Have a drink."

"He's one to talk," Mulligan muttered.

Burr looked around. "I see the whole gang is here. Inseperable, huh?"

Lafayette looked pointedly over the rim of his glass. "You are the worst, Burr."

"Ignore them," Alexander said absently. "Congrats to you, Burr. You lead a squadron of Aurors now. I wish I had a postion like that instead of manning George's journel.

Burr chuckled. "No, you don't."

"Yes, I do."

"Now, be sensible!" Burr exclaimed, putting an arm around his shoulders. He poked in him the chest. "You are irreplaceable. Washington goes on and on about you."

Laurens, clearly, grew bored of this talk, and slid over to Burr. Putting an arm around his shoulders, he whisphered in his ear. "Oh Burr..."

"What?"

"Well, well I've heard you've got someone on the side."

Lafayette and Mulligan hooted as Burr went red. Hamilton beamed. "Is that so?" he asked. "And here I thought you were heartless."

"What are you trying to hide, Burr?" Laurens teased, tickling his neck.

Burr painfully detached Laurens' arm from his shoulders, clearly not in the mood to deal with a bunch of drunk men. "I should go," he said, heading towards the door.

Alexnader blocked his path. He wanted to talk. "No, these guys should go."

"What?"

"No!"

"Man.."

It took a lot of pushing, protests, and empty promises to get the three out the door. Now alone, the two men sat at a table. Alexander frowned at Burr's pained face. "Its alright. Those guys like to tease. I wish you'd brought this girl with you. I'd have liked to meet her."

This actually, made Aaron look more upset. "You're very kind, but I'm afriad it would be wrong of me."

"Oh?"
