Just a few yards away, Alexander stood with Mulligan and Lafayette in the middle of a tight crowd surrounding a pompous young man giving a speech while standing on an empty butterbeer crate. "I am Samuel Seabury and I present my thoughts on the realtions with our dear Minister!" he said, unrolling his parchment.
"This should be good," Alexander muttered, crossing his arms.
"Don't pay attention to the riffraff that urge we adandon George King! They do not have your best interests at heart. Don't let them lead you astray from what is right."
The crowd whisphered fervently at these words. "Does he even read the Prophet?" Alexander exclaimed to his friends. "What has King done to deserve our loyalty?"
Mulligan cracked his knuckles. "I'm going to tear him apart."
Lafayette pulled out his wand and twirled it around his fingers. "Oui, this will be fun. One hex from me. One hit from you. Very enter...ahhh....it will be enjoyable."
"The Wizengamot doesn't speak for me or my beliefs and this talk of sacking King is very dangerous during these times. We need to stand by our Minister," Seabury continued, tossing back his head.
Alexander felt his blood pressure rise. This....this...buffoon needed to be put in his place. He took only one step forward when he felt a hand grab his shoulder. He whirled around, pulling out his wand. It was only Burr.
"Let him be," Burr said. "Don't cause trouble."
Alexander shook him off and stormed towards Seabury. "You should all be ashamed!" the man was saying to the crowd. "I will reiterate. Do not trust th-."
"-this clown on a box who asks for puppetry and blind followers!" Hamilton yelled, planting himself next to theman. The crowd laughed. Seabury turned bright red and tried to return to his speech.
"They scream treason and cause chaos-."
"-which is already here! Have you not read the papers?"
"-and this is poisonous to our health as a-."
"Its hard to listen to you with a straight face!" Alexander drawled, rolling his eyes dramatically. He could see Mulligan and Lafayette howling with laughter.
Seabury shot back, "We wizards must stand with our Minister!"
"Honestly! You shouldn't even talk!"
"As I said, the Wizengamot does NOT speak for me!"
"My crup pup speaks more eloquently than thee!" Hamilton snorted.
Lafayette made barking sounds and the crowd went crazy.
Now clearly flustered, a sweating Seabury tried to continue. "Heed-."
"If you repeat yourself I'm going to-."
"Scream!"
"Honestly, look at me, please don't read!" Alexander cried, trying to snatch the parchment away. The two ensued in a brief tug-of-war. The crowd egged them on.
"Alexander, please!" Burr called, grabbing the infuriated young man by the collar. Seabury regained his property and brushed himself off, trying to look dignified.
Burr gave him an apolegetic grin that was more of a grimace and steered Alexander away. It was harder than it looked. "I wasn't done with him! Burr, let go!" he growled, struggling. "I'll curse you and make it look like a violent accident!"
To Aaron's relief, they lost Alexander's highly excitable friends in the fray. "Calm, down, will you?" Burr begged, when they finally found a quiet sidestreet. "You can't harass everyone that opposes your beliefs."
"Watch me," Hamilton snapped, his eyes flashing.
Burr threw his hand up in the air. "I give up. What am I going to do with you?"
"How about you leave me alone? Last I checked, I don't need a babysitter."
Burr froze. He grinned as a brilliant idea struck him, out of the blue. Alexander was wild thing that needed discipline. And Burr knew exactly who could do it. Someone who was strong, wanted respect, but was still kind and took young recruits under his wings.
"Why are you smiling?" Alexander was eyeing him warily.
"Are you familiar with a George Washington?"
