"They killed Cali," someone said. "Damn it, I was hoping I wouldn't have to participate," another said. "Flame brain, they're already suspecting," Lightning said. "And this wouldn't make them suspect more?" Fire asked. "Hmm, Greg used my power to protect his daughter," Lightning said. "Target Guillermo, he's got nothing," Fire said. "He has Star," Lightning said. "She's not exactly family," Fire said. "Good point," Lightning pondered. "Hmm, you think they'll figure it out?" Lightning asked. "If they do, they'll have one last challenge to pass," Fire cackled.
Greg and the others had went back to Crystal River, and stayed at the cabin again. Although, something about it was... off, for lack of a better word. Usually, they were excited to come back, it was a fun place with lots of good memories. Now, to Greg, it just seemed empty, almost like if you open a can of soda and it was nothing inside. Maybe it was because of the early hour, by the time they arrived, it was already noon. "I never wanted to return here," Greg said. "I don't think any of us wanted to," Star said. They went into the cabin, set Aries into her crib, and sat down in chairs. "What exactly do you make of the mark disappearing?" Greg asked. "You think there's a possibility the mark was a fake?" Star asked. "A fake mark wouldn't produce any power, much less power of her quality," Greg said. "What about that other person they talked about?" Guillermo asked. "Hmm, it's possible," Greg pondered. 'But, that would mean this person would have to be a god,' Greg thought. 'An impersonator of some sorts.' Greg went up to the bedroom. "Star, where was the book on legends of the past?" Greg asked. "I returned it," she answered. "Why?!" Greg exclaimed. "I didn't think we needed it after the tournament," Star said. Greg conceded, they all didn't know that this tournament would expand to a war. "I think the best thing now, is we hold up here, and try to get answers," Guillermo said, as he made food. "Hmm," Greg stood silent. "There's no other choice, Greg, anywhere we go, we're gonna have people attacking us, and we don't even know where they come from," Guillermo said. "Do we know why?" Star asked. "I have a working theory," Greg said. Then, something made a loud boom, almost like an explosion, and then lightning crashed. "What the hell is that?" Greg ran out to find a swirling circle in mid air, he saw a scenery in the background of it. "It's a portal!!" Greg screamed. Greg then looked at what came out, a little girl no more than twelve, but no less than eight. "Hey, get outta there!" Greg ran and grabbed her before the portal closed. He carried her inside, and set her on the chair. "Get your hands off me!" The girl screamed. "Is that how you say thanks for saving your life?" Greg asked, sarcastically. "I didn't need saving," she said. "You should be more grateful, he didn't need to do that," Star said. "I don't even know who you are!!" The girl screamed. Crying came from the room next door. "Damn it, you woke up Aries," Greg said, then walked off. "Wait, Aries?" The girl asked. "Yeah," Guillermo said. "She's his child." The girl looked over at Greg, and shook her head, almost as if she was in denial. "It couldn't be," she said. "So, what's your name?" Greg asked as he walked in. "That's none of your business," the girl said. "You know, I could've left you in that portal," Greg said. "And?" She asked. "And nothing, I'm just telling you that," Greg said. "Why bother saving me?" The girl asked. "Because I'm not heartless," Greg answered. The girl left to sleep in the spare shed outside. "You know, she's kind of rude," Guillermo said, as he stood near Greg. "Yeah, but, she reminds me of her," Greg said. "Natalie?" Guillermo asked. "Yeah, she had the attitude that could beat mine in a heartbeat," Greg said.
It was two in the morning, Guillermo woke up, and he smelled something. It had a mix of dirt and wood, almost like soot. "Is that smoke?" Guillermo asked. "Star, get up," he shook her awake. "Guillermo, it's two in the... what's burning?" Star said. They run out of their room to see the cabin, covered in orange flames, wood falling from the ceiling. "Oh god, where's Greg?" Star asked. "Get out of here, I'm getting Aries!!" Someone screamed. Greg had ran towards the front door, carrying Aries in his arms, when wood fell from the ceiling, covering the exit. "Damn it!!" Greg screamed. "Guys, jump out the window!" He screamed to Guillermo and Star. "ARE YOU CRAZY?!" Star screamed. "It's the only way, don't worry, you'll be okay!" Greg jumped out the window downstairs. "It'll be okay, hold on to me," Guillermo grabbed Star, and held her bridal style. "On three," Guillermo counted. "One... two... THREE!" Guillermo jumped out the window, and landed on the ground, him and Star laid on the ground, exhausted. "Wait, where's the girl?" Guillermo asked. Greg looked at the spare shed, and saw it in flames. "No, no, no, stay here, take Aries," Greg handed her to Star, and darted to the shed. He kicked the door down, and saw her in the corner, crying. "Hey!!" Greg screamed. "It's you!" She said. "Stay there, I'm coming to get you," Greg bobbed and weaved through burning wood. He got to the girl, and was trapped by burning wood. "There's no way out!!" She screamed. "Yes there is, stand back!!" She moved, and Greg charged a lightning bolt. He blasted it at the wall, and made a hole the size of a car ramming through. "Come on!" Greg screamed. They ran out of the shed, just before it collapsed. They ran back to Guillermo and the others, and fell down. The girl blasted water on the cabin, and put out the fire in a few minutes. "You're marked as well?" Greg asked. "Unfortunately," she said. "Okay, I'm done with the monkey dance, start talking!" Greg screamed. "Greg, calm down," Guillermo said. "Calm down?" Greg asked facetiously. "I save this girls life twice, my cabin is now burned like hell, and you expect me to be calm?!" Greg shot a lightning bolt in the sky. "The least you can do is tell us who you are!" Greg screamed. The girl sighed, and she poked him softly on the forehead. "My name is Aries, and I am your daughter," she said. Greg stood in shock, and then fainted. "We need to get him somewhere," she said. "There's a hotel not far from here," Star said. They got him in the car, and drove.
