Star jumped back, and her shadow followed. She punched her full force, which was enough to put the body into shock, but, the shadow just stood and laughed as her fist went through it. "No," Star gasped.
Natalie jumped and kicked her shadow back into a building, she then proceeded to charge at it and punch it in the chest. The shadow caught her fist, and flipped her on the ground. Natalie got back up and hit her shadow in the stomach, but, it went right through her. "That's impossible," Natalie said.
Aries, who was currently entrapped in a headlock, tried elbowing her shadow, with no success. "It's an illusion," Aries choked.
Greg was busy kicking his shadow, and watching his feet go through him. "It seems physical attacks do nothing," Greg said. Then, he got an idea, he charged lightning in his hand, and leapt into the air. The shadow followed him, big mistake. Greg charged at the shadow, gritting his teeth as the wind brushed past his face. He charged at the shadow. "Lightning Blade!" He screamed. Greg hit the shadow, and he saw the lightning surge through the shadows body. Greg landed on the ground, and the shadow exploded. "Shadows don't explode, what the hell?" Greg asked himself. The other shadows dissipated, and everyone just stood there. They stared at where the shadow exploded. A dark, purple glow was emanating from it. "Greg, look," Natalie pointed. Greg saw the glow, and walked up to it. "This isn't a natural glow, that's darkness," Greg said. "Greg, don't, you don't know what will happen," Star said. "Don't worry, I'll be fine," Greg said. He got closer to the glow. He kept moving till he was now standing right in front of it. He held his hand out, and the glow turned into a dark substance that wrapped around Greg's arm. He grunted. "Greg!" Natalie shouted. "I'll get him," Aries said. "No, don't move!" Greg screamed. "That things constricting you," Aries said. "No, it isn't," Greg said. "It feels like its flowing into me." The substance disappeared, and Greg stood there, almost feeling like he could destroy anything. "I feel... different," Greg said. "Greg, I sense something, it's a new element," Natalie said. "It isn't natural though, the gods synthesized it." Greg charged lightning in his hand, and he saw a bit of dark... "Fire?" Greg gasped in surprise. "They called it Inferno, it's a mixture of darkness and fire," Natalie said. Greg dashed at the wall with his new technique in hand, and blasted it to smithereens. The others stood in amazement. "Amazing," Greg said. "We should get a move on," Star said. "Yeah, let's see if we can find them," Greg said. They start walking, and Greg looked back for a second. "If that thing was supposed to be a doppelganger or my shadow..." Greg whispered to himself. He turned away and ran to the others.
