She didn't remember screaming, but when she finally caught her breath, her throat was raw and she was hyperventilating. She felt helpless, Mike was dying right in front of her, and she could do nothing about it.

She heard him choke and saw blood stream through his mouth, the monster laughed evilly and she screamed even louder this time.

The monster's head whipped around and its eyes completely black now, focused right on her. She strained against her restraints once more, but it was no use.

She saw Will's face contort into a grin, and with a voice that wasn't his, try to comfort her.

"There there sweetheart, what's a little loss? You didn't love him right?"

He raised his hand again to her trembling body's do slowly  drew his sharpest claw across her face, down her arms and finally her legs.

She had tears leaking into the burning wounds, but she would give the monster the satisfaction of her scream. It worked.

The monster roared in anger, the wasted energy on these two, too much fight for not enough satisfaction. They were both to determined to live, to love.

The monster was frustrated in both of them. Neither screamed or begged for mercy when he was torturing them.

He paced around the room kicking the boy, and finally decided to let the girl go, neither would be walking any time soon. He left for his dungeon, Will already trying to gain control of their mind.

The only success was a head pounding head ache, and a booming laugh still from the monster.

El runs to Mike, shaking him and sobbing.

"NO! Mike NO!"

Her tears soak his shirt as she lay on his frail body, the room buzzing with her anger.

Dustin brushes the plant curtains aside, choking at the stench of death it revealed. He walks slowly, careful not to crush any bones strewn across the floor.

When he gets to the clearing, his hand flies to his mouth. Mike was on his back, face paler than pale, and El was trying desperately to stop the bleeding with leaves she must have collected from outside.

Dustin immediately springs into action, sprinting with Lucas to the drugstore around the corner. They got as much "clean" supplies thy could, and ran back to the dying Mike.

When Lucas cut his shirt away to reveal the wounds, they all gasped collectively. What had the monster done. It was not just blood that they saw, something else was there, and it changed everything.
