Chapter 3
I took a taxi to a place I knew the way to all too well for not being there in 10 years. I walked to Matt's parents. I obviously didn't have his number, but I knew his parents would. As I went to the door I thought, what happens if they don't remember me? What happens if they don't like me anymore? What happens if they don't want me here? I knocked on the door.
"Oh my god, Caelyn Jones? Is that you? What are you doing here in Vancouver?" Matt's mom asked.
"My friend Raine made me come. Would it be rude if I asked Matt's number so I could call him up?" I asked. She shook her head no. She told me the number and his adress. We said our goodbye and I made my way to Matt's new place. I did take a taxi though.
I walked up to a apartment complexe and got out my phone. I dialed the number and called.
"Hello is this Matt Webb?" I asked while leaning against the wall with my bags.
"Yeah, who is this?" Matt asked back. I chuckled.
"How dare you not even recognise your best friends voice." I said.
"No way. Is this seriously Caelyn?" Matt asked.
"Serious as it gets." I said and started walking inside and to the elevator.
"Oh my god! Where are you?" Matt shrieked.
"I am actually in Vancouver, in your apartment complex elevator." I said as I clicked the button.
"Caelyn Jones I swear to go if this is a prank I will skin you. I am outside my room in my pjs." Matt threatened.
"Can't wait to see that." I laughed as the elevator stopped. I grabbed all my bags and went into the hallway.
"No way. Am I hallucinating or are you down my hallway?" Matt asked. I saw a shirtless man standing there.
"Nope, I'm here. Now help me with my fucking bags, they're heavy." I said.
"That's definitely you." Matt laughed and ran down the hall.
"Hugs after, carry this shit." I said as he approached me. He nodded and grabbed a bag. Matt kept repeating oh my god over and over again as we were walking down the hallway. We got to his room and put down my bags. I was quickly smothered in a hug.
"I missed you. I missed you. I missed you." He said and squeezed me tightly.
"I missed you too Matty." I smiled as I hugged back.
"Oh my god. Sit down. I want to catch up." Matt said and let go of me. I sat down on his couch and so did he. "What's going on with your life that I haven't been in for ten fucking years?" Matt asked.
"Ah, yeah. Sorry about that. Um, I'm in a band that signed to this tiny little record label. That's cool. I died my hair and got a billion more tattoos." I said.
"OH MY GOD YOU'RE SIGNED?!" Matt shouted excitedly.
"Yeah, we're called Reverse. It's just a little baby band. It's not big at all! I promise you." I giggled. Wow, after not seeing him for ten years, it felt like I just left yesterday. I missed him so much.
"It's awesome! Maybe you could go on tour with us!" Matt was nearly bouncing in his seat.
"Calm down. You probably wouldn't like my mates. They're all dicks." I laughed and joked.
"Dicks? As in guys? You're in a all guy band! Oh my god!" Matt said and pushed me lightly.
"You sound like a teenage girl Matty. And yeah, I'm the only girl. Big whop. They're my friends." I smiled.
"I'm so proud of you! So, tattoos? Lots?" Matt asked. Oh I guess he couldn't see the ones on my torso or arms.
"Yeah. Some people say too many but I don't know. I love them. So Matty. Am I aloud to stay here?" I asked.
"Of course! You can sleep in the spare room. Just to let you know my girlfriend Nicole's here a lot." Matt said.
"It's fine. Young love, it's sweet. So what ever happened to Ella?" I asked.
"We're still friends. Um would you agree to a crazy favour?" Matt asked.
"I'm scared." I laughed.
"Our tech guy, Brett. He doesn't have a date for the Junos tonight because his girlfriend's away and we all do so maybe you'll hang with us at the Junos and be Brett's date?" Matt asked.
"Shit! I forgot Junos were on tonight. But uh sure I guess, but Matt. I have no dress." I chuckled.
"Nicole has two of hers here. She's coming in a bit. You can have one." Matt said.
"Are you sure she'd be okay with that?" I asked.
"She'll be fine. I'll go get one and you can have the one she doesn't chose." Matt said and ran to get the dresses. One stood out to me more than the other. It was strapless with a black sparkly top part and a bit higher than the knee skirt that was red. "Like the red one don't you?" Matt said. I nodded. "I'm pretty sure she's taking the other one. It's your lucky day."
"Do you think she could help me get ready?" I asked.
"I'll call her right now." He said and stepped out of the room. I sat on the couch and texted Michael.
'At Matt's now. I'm legit going to the Junos tonight with them. -Caelyn'
'Wow, have fun. Text me later k? - M'
'Kays. Bye bye -Caelyn'
I slid my phone in my pocket and Matt came back in.
"Do you mind if I use your bathroom? I need a piss." I giggled.
"Second to the left." Matt said. I got up and went to the toilet. As I was washing my hands I heard the door open. Hmm, he must've had to get something, I thought. I fixed my hair quickly and went back out. "Calm down man." Matt said.
One of the guys might be here! When I came around the corner I nearly died. There was the one and only Josh Ramsay.
