"What happens if he doesn't love me anymore? What happens if he says no? Caelyn I can't do this, there's no way I can do this. Wedding is off." Nicole rambled as I finished her makeup.
"No it's not, I think we'll have a pretty sad Matt if you call the wedding off. He loves you to the moon and back, sweetheart. He's definitely going to say yes." I reassured her, plugging in the curling wand.
"Are you sure? What if he changes his mind? God, it's my wedding day today." Nicole replied to me, playing with the silver band on her finger. I rolled my eyes and laughed at her.
"Believe me, he's not going to say no. Just breathe Nic." I said, running a comb through her hair.
"I'm going to cry." Nicole said, breathing way to quickly,
"No you are not, I just spent 45 minutes on that face." I replied, wrapping her hair around the hot barrel.
Nicole's hair was done in another hour and she was done her bridal meltdown. It was time of me and the girls to get ready, which took a lot less time. I put some loose curls in my hair and did my makeup in in pink and purple colors. I felt my stomach drop as Megan zipped up my dress.
Oh my god, this was happening. My best friend is getting married.
Just as that thought crossed my mind there was a knock on the door.
"Is everyone decent?" Josh asked.
I walked to the door in my bare feet, opened up the door a crack and stuck my head though. Josh was in his tux, looking handsome as ever.
"Groomzilla needs to see you, he's having a fucking panic attack." Josh stated in and grabbed my hand, pulling me out of the room. I shut the door behind me and walked beside him,
"Is he saying 'I can't get married! She's going to say no!'? I just dealt with that an hour ago." I groaned.
"Yeah a bit, he's been crying on and off for the last hour. Matt told me to get you, so here I am. You look beautiful by the way." Josh said, guiding me to his room.
"Thank you babe, you look very handsome." I smiled as Josh opened the door. Matt sat there, tears streaming down his face. I ran to sit down with him and engulfed him in a hug.
"Everything's going to be okay, stop crying, you're worse than Nicole." I laughed, rubbing his back in soothing motions.
"She's going to say no. Please Cae, just let me back out of this. How far of a jump do you think it is?" Matt sobbed into my shoulder.
"You'll probably break a leg, maybe two. She's going to say yes, Webb. Stop being silly. She loves you, now stop crying because we need to get going in 15 minutes. Lets wipe these eyes and steady our breathing, okay Matty?" I soothed him. He took a few deep breaths and wiped under his eyes with a tissue, he was ok.
"I love you Caelyn, you know that right? I think Josh tells the guys that he had it worse when you left, but I don't know. It killed me, I tried to stand up and help Josh along the way. It was so hard, loosing your best friend is difficult. I just-" I stopped him.
"Hey shut up, this is going to make me cry. I need to get out of here and walk down with Nic, I love you too. I'll see you in a little bit." I said, giving him one last hug and running back to Nicole's room.
~
"Nicole, I love you so much. You have been with me for 5 years and I still love you as much as when we first met and I vow to never, ever stop.. You have been with me through everything. You are all I want in this world, you are all I ever need." Matt's voice broke near the end of his vows. Nicole's makeup was already running from her tears. God, they were so amazing together.
"Mathew, I've seen every little part of you, and I can't say there's a piece of it I don't love. The little meltdowns, the silly stories, the passion for music, I love it. I want to be with you forever, I want to love you for the rest of my life, and after, and I will. I vow to stop loving you, ever." Nicole spoke back, turning into a crying mess.
"Do you Mathew Webb, take Nicole Arbour to be your lawfully wedded wife?"
"I do."
"Do you Nicole Arbour, take Mathew Webb to be your lawfully wedded husband?"
"I do."
"Well, somebody should kiss somebody!" The priest laughed. Matt swooped in and planted a kiss on Nicole's lips. "I now pronounce, Mr. and Mrs. Webb!"
God, my best friend was married.
~
After Nicole and Matt had their first dance, after Nicole danced with her father, Matt told me he wanted me to be his first dance (other than Nicole) in his married life.
"Mind if I steal her from you for a dance?" Matt asked Josh, holding me around my waist.
"As long as I get her back." Josh said, leaving a kiss on my lips before Matt took me to the dance floor. We swayed back and forth together, my head on his shoulder.
"None of this would've happened without you and don't even try to interrupt me this time. You are one of the most amazing people in my life and I'm so happy to have you back forever." Matt said. I let myself cry onto his shoulder.
If I was to die right now, I'd die happy.
"Matty, I love you so, so much. Without you, I would not be the happy person I am today, I would probably be a 27 year old cat lady." I chuckled.
"I love you too." Matt said quietly.
As song came to a end and we held each other of a moment longer. When we let go, his face was full of tears as well as mine. I smiled at him and he smiled back. The dance floor started to fill with people and we separated. I saw Josh and ran up to him, squeezing him tightly.
"Maybe Vegas is a stupid idea. Maybe we can do it like this when we get married." I said.
"Yeah, I'd love that." Josh smirked, planting a soft kiss on my lips.
"I love you, and I love the guys, and life in general right now honestly." I told him.
"Me too, now may I have this dance?" He smiled.
