I tried my best to push back the feeling, but it was always there. Scratching and biting it's way through my thick skull. My precious... That thought rang over and over. No. I mustn't be like him. I thought to myself. I didn't want to end up like my poor friend, Gollum. Before I was found by Thranduil, I lived with Gollum, in the Misty Mountains. I was the protector of the dwarves, humans, and other things that passed through and got attacked by the goblins. They never were very keen of visitors.. When I turned 10, I left the Misty Mountains to try and find my family. They left me at the mountains, probably to keep me safe. But, how odd for them to trust my life with a multi-sided, practically dead Hobbit? I sat on the ground, close to meeting, but not close enough to hear what they were talking about. I can feel it.. It's calling back to me..

~Flashback~

"Smeagol? Where are you?" I giggled. Smeagol and I were playing hide and seek, which was one of our favorite games, other than solving riddles. I heard Smeagol fall behind me, and a clink, clink, clink along the ground. I looked down at my feet, and saw a gold ring. I couldn't seem to look away, as if I was in a trance. I picked it up, and looked at it with greed. I want it to be mine... I turned, and started running down the passages of the Mountains. "MY PRECIOUS!" I heard Gollum scream. I could hear his feet behind me. I turned a corner, and fell to the ground with a twist of my ankle. Gollum was soon on top of me, raking at my face. "GIVE IT BACK TO US!" He screamed in my face.

I took the ring, and held it in the air. Gollum snatched it, and ran off. I sat up slowly, feeling pain all along my ribs. I put my hand to my face slowly, and felt a stinging sensation as I touched my cheek. I looked at my hand, which was littered with red. I finally decided. I have to leave. But, the calling of the Ring.. It's been keeping me here for years.. I must leave. I must find my family. But, Smeagol's my family.. Family doesn't hurt you. He hurt me. "Smeagol?" I called out. "Go away!" I heard his voice say, echoing through the mountains. He doesn't want me.. I sighed, and started my new life.

~End of Flashback~

I felt shudders go throughout my body at remembering that horrid day. I looked over at the meeting, and saw the Fellowship walking away. I caught Galadriel's eye, and she nodded in the direction of the group. Go talk to them. I didn't want to talk to them. The Halflings thought I was an it, the guy with the scraggly hair doesn't really seem to trust me, either. Go. I got up, ad started walking in the direction the group took. I felt a slight breeze, and spread out my wings. It felt so nice.. I haven't been able to fly for days.. If only I could follow that breeze back home. "Ren? What are you doing?" Legolas asked. I turned to him, not realizing how close I was to the group. I quickly drew my wings back, "I'm supposed to speak with you guys. Maybe you know what we need to speak about?" I asked.

"Not sure, either. Wanna train? It's been a while. I want to see the skills Twigwit has been helping you with." He grinned. "Figwit." "Same thing." We both laughed. "So, are you up for a round?" Legolas nudged my shoulder. "Oh, you know it." I responded. "Do your friends want to watch?" I asked in a hushed whisper. Both of us looked at the group, "You guys wanna watch?" Legolas asked, swiping his hand as if he was pointing at everyone. Merry and Pippin popped up, "Yeah!" They said in unison. "Why? You're going to win, Legolas. No doubt on that." Gimli grumbled. "We could use something to get our minds off the journey." Aragorn spoke up. Everyone looked at him. "Let's go." He said, and followed me to an open spot to fight.
