My Savior

Sorry I haven't updated this in a while!! I wrote this during Geometry class, so sorry if it's not really up to the other things I've wrote, and for the mistakes, if there's any!! BYE!!!

Knock, knock knock. I heard from my door. I looked at it and raised a brow, wondering who would be bothering me when I'm supposed to be.. I'm supposed to be asleep! I rushed under my covers, and quickly lyed my head on my pillow, and closed my eyes. I heard the creak of the door, and as if by reflex, my eyes tried harder to hold themselves closed. "(Y/N)? A-are you awake..?" I heard a scared, yet curious voice whisper. "No...?" I recognized the voice as it got closer. Pippin. What is he doing up? I heard his feet walk across my floor, edging closer to my desk. My desk where my book is! He'll figure out I was awake! "Must have forgot to bookmark her spot.. I'll do it for her." I heard him whisper to himself. I soon heard my book shut, and be pushed back into my shelf.

What is he doing?!?! My brain kept asking over and over, begging me to figure it out. I heard him walk closer to my bed, "Pippin, what are you doing awake?" I asked, acting as if I had just awoken. I heard a small yelp from the Hobbit, and he stepped back. "I-I didn't mean to wake you, I'm so sorry..." I shook my head, "Pippin, I was awake, anyways. That's why my book was open." His face lit up with sudden realization. I patted the side of my bed, where he sat down with a small "oomph".

"So, why are you awake, Pip?" I asked him. "I-I had a nightmare, (Y/N).. I lost everyone I-I lost Merry, I lost Sam, and I lost you.." He said, holding back tears of pain and sorrow. I felt grief for my friend, for I would be hurt to death if I were to lose any of my friends. I hugged him tightly, and ruffled his hair. "Pippin, we would never leave you. Merry wouldn't, he needs you for all kinds of things. Sam needs you to help entertain his kids, and he needs you as a friend. And well, I, I need you for my life. You're sharing your precious home with me, your food, everything. If it wasn't for you, Pip, I would be living in the forests or something. We would be nowhere without you, so why would we leave?" I looked deep into his water and pain stained eyes, and saw a glint of happiness behind all that sorrow.

"Y-you're right.. Why would you guys leave me? I wouldn't leave you guys, I know that. I need you to buy the food, anyways." He let out a small laugh. "And I need you to keep my life in order." I smiled at him. He smiled back, then hugged me immediately. "I am so happy I found you, (Y/N). Even if I did find you on the side of the path like a homeless person." I felt his broad grin. I couldn't help but smile at Pippin's comedic way of telling me that I was a homeless Hobbit. "Let's go make some tea." I hopped up off the bed, and skipped to the door. "Come on, Pippin. I think we have some mushrooms, too." I told him, earning a shocked face and a friend following me to the kitchen. 

I grabbed a cup to boil the water while Pippin went through the food storage for the mushrooms. I shook my head, knowing the secret. "Pip, they're not there. Go look in the empty barley barrel." I told him, nodding to the barrel.  Pippin rushed over, and seemed to become a firework emitting it's beautiful sparkles when lit. He pulled out the mushrooms, and rose them to the air. "MUSHROOMS!" He giggled. 

~Time Skip~

Pippin and I had finished eating and drinking our tea when I noticed a glint of light peer through the window. "Wow.. Morning already." I laughed shortly, noticing my lack of sleep peering through. I looked over at Pippin to see his head laid on the table, his body rising slowly with each breath of air. I smiled at the sight of my calm, sleeping savior. I got up, and retrieved a blanket slowly. I laid it over Pippin, then pushed a pillow under his head. I glanced back at him one more time and smiled, "Thank you, Pippin." I whispered before leaving to go on my daily food run.
