(Sorry if this was rushed, and sorry about the last chapter, I was so tired.)
"I have to do this, mon amour. I swear, I'll come back alive. Tomorrow." Lafayette grabbed his gun, saluting Laurens with a smile.
"I wish I could come with you..." Laurens frowned.
"I wish I could stay with you." Lafayette finished getting ready, he got down on his knees in front of Laurens, which was sitting against the tent.
"I'll be back, okay? I'll be thinking of you. Time will fly by..." he kissed him and hugged him before he stood up.
"Goodbye, Laurens." he said.
"Goodbye, Lafayette... I'll miss you...!" Laurens said desperate.
"I'll miss you, too, mon amour... Hercules will definitely stopped by to bug ya'. I love you." Lafayette started to walk away, wanting to stay.
"I-I love you, too, a-a lot!" Laurens said, not wanting to be alone.
"I'm sorry, mon amour..." Laurens now looked at the ground, the only thing he could do all day was stare at the ground and do nothing. He can't even fight in the war. He laid on the ground, now extremely bored. It felt like a million years now since he's been gone, though he literally just left. Laurens was like a child, needed attention and love twenty-four-seven. There were footsteps, light, light footsteps... he looked over at the tent exit, now waiting to see who it was. The person tripped, but rolled to the tent. Laurens dragged himself over, trying to reach the exit. The person almost broke the tent getting in, none other than Hercules Mulligan himself.
"Hercules!!!" Laurens smiled wide. Hercules was on the ground, face planted.
"Heeeey, buddy!!!" he laughed and got up, sitting up.
"How have you been?!" Laurens dragged himself over to him.
"I've been pretty good, wanting to shoot a gun or two, but I'm pretty good. You?" Hercules smiled wide.
"Life's life." Laurens shrugged.
"Eh, hang in there, buddy." Hercules gave him a thumbs up.
"Haha, I will." Laurens sat himself up, making grabby hands. Hercules hugged him quick, laughing.
"You're so cheerful!" Laurens said, hugging him back.
"I'm happy if you're happy!" Hercules rubbed his cheek against his, humming. That reminded Laurens, his mood dropped lowkey.
"Oh yeah..." he pulled away from the hug.
"I heard you said that yesterday, something was wrong?" Laurens frowned.
"Ah... the French man told you that, huh? Ah, just worried about your knee." Hercules lied, giving him a loving smile.
"Oh, don't worry, I'm doing just fine!" Laurens gave him a caring smile, too.
"I should of been the one that had a bullet in the knee." Hercules chuckled.
"Oh no, don't say that!" Laurens frowned.
"Just saying, I'd do anything to see you smile." Hercules said.
"You're too kind..." Laurens smiled again.
"Only to you. Anyone else, I wouldn't care less, to be honest... anyway, what do you wanna do?" Hercules tilted his head, patiently waiting.
"There's not much to do, is there..? We could play... would you rather...?" Laurens asked.
"Oh yeah! I love that game!!!" Hercules laid on the ground.
"Want me to start?" Laurens asked.
"Sure!!" Hercules said.
"Okay... would you rather............ eat a spider or a ladybug?" Laurens smirked.
"Oh, spider!!" Hercules chuckled.
"Ew, haha! Your turn!" Laurens was already having fun.
"Would you rather................ climb a tree or a mountain?" Hercules's eyes sparkled.
"Tree?!" Laurens gasped a bit.
"Awe, no hardcore." Hercules said.
"I'd die?!" Laurens kind of yelled.
"But you gotta do the extreme!" Hercules laughed.
"No thanks..." Laurens chuckled.
"Ah, okay." Hercules tapped Laurens's nose.
Time seemed to fly by, before you knew it, night came around. Laurens was out like a light bulb, laying against the tent. The tent was opened, Hercules was looking at the stars by him, sighing. He looked over at Laurens, smiling a little, softly.
"Things have been rough, huh, buddy...?" Hercules slowly and gently held his hand, intertwining.
"It's gonna be okay, though... we'll live..." he chuckled, looking back out at the stars.
"Even though I love you and I know I can't have you, I'll always be your best friend, okay...?" he whispered.
"I'll always be there for you... I'll protect you, Laurens..." Laurens moved in his sleep, falling over, his head now resting on Hercules's shoulder.
"I'll take a bullet for you... that's what best friends are for, right...? I promise..."
