Laurens yawned, opening his eyes, the morning sun shining through the window. Lafayette seemed to be gone. He rubbed his eyes and sat up, stretching. He got out of bed and started to make his way downstairs to search for him. He woke up to the smell of food cooking, now making him hungry.

"Lafayette, where are you?" he asked. You'd think he'd known Lafayette couldn't hear him. He walked into the kitchen, the French man seemed to be cooking breakfast. Lafayette looked behind him.

"Ah, you're awake, Laurens." he purred.

"Yeah, I am." he walked over to him, Lafayette went back to cooking.

"What'cha cookin'?" Laurens asked.

"Something similar to a French breakfast for you." Lafayette smiled.

"For me...?" Laurens smiled back warmly.

"That's okay, right?" Lafayette asked.

"Sure, I don't mind at all." Laurens got close to him, snuggling up to him, sleeping again.

"Hey, don't fall asleep on me, now..." Lafayette said softly, smiling.

"But I'm so tired..." Laurens whined

"Lafayette...?" he asked.

"Yes, mon amour?" Lafayette gave him a kiss on his temple.

"Are we... are we a thing now...?" Laurens asked quietly.

"Well, only if want us to be a thing." Lafayette said simply. Laurens opened his eyes, staring at the ground, silent. He was contemplating it. Lafayette was so nice to him, loving and caring. They did have a little make out session last night, which made Laurens blush now.

"I'd like that." Laurens was a blushing mess now.

"oW FILS DE PUTE!!!" Lafayette yelled, accidentally burning himself, Laurens looked at him with worry.

"Are you okay?!" Laurens ran over to the sink, running back over to Lafayette and grabbing his hands gently, guiding him quickly to the sink. He ran his new lovers hand under the water.

"I-It is nothing but a burn... I've been through worse..." Lafayette gave him a comforting smile, trying not to curse in front of him.

"Yeah, but you burned yourself! You got hurt!" Laurens said concerned.

"I appreciate your concern, mon bel amour. Thank you." Lafayette chuckled.

"I can't understand...?" Laurens shook his head slightly.

"I thought you said you learned French?" Lafayette asked.

The food was burning, the scent of smoke filled the air.

"Oh no-" he ran back over to the pan, grabbing a spatula and flipping the food over. Laurens followed him around.

"Well, I guess I can just cut that off." he said to himself. There was a plate beside him, almost filled with foods Laurens hasn't ever tried yet. Lafayette seemed to combined some foods with ingredients and other foods. He cut off the burned part, plating the food now.

"Finally done." he grabbed a fork and walked over to the table, setting it down.

"Come try it, Laurens." He smiled sweetly. Laurens smiled wide, walking over and sitting down.

"T-Thank you... so much..." Laurens said gratefully.

"Anything for you, cher." Lafayette said softly. Laurens took a bite out of the food, it was cooked just right and was delicious.

"T-This is.... amazing..." he said.

"Aw, thank you, you're too kind." Lafayette walked over to the stove, grabbing the things he used to cook and putting them in the sink, beginning to wash them.

"I can do it." Laurens said to him.

"It's fine, I got it." Lafayette hummed, he was in a cheerful mood.

"Really, I can do it." Laurens insisted.

"And it's fine." Lafayette chuckled.

"Eat, eat, mon amour." Lafayette insisted, too. Laurens looked at his food, beginning to eat again. After he was done eating, Lafayette grabbed the plate and began to wash that, too. It still bugged Laurens. He thought about what may happen today, all the soldiers prayed every day that they would make it out alive. For him, he believes if he lives to fight and dies in the end, it will have been worth it.

"What'cha thinkin' about? You're zoning out." Lafayette asked.

"Just what may happen today." Laurens said, shrugging a bit.

"Hmm. Should I be concerned?" Lafayette asked.

"No, no. It's fine." Laurens answered.

"Okay, I'll still be concerned slightly." Lafayette said.

"Well, don't be." Laurens stood up, running back over to Lafayette and clinging to him.

"Why are you hanging onto me?" Lafayette chuckled.

"Because." Laurens buried his face in his back. Lafayette never did stop smiling, he seemed too happy.

"Why are you so happy today?" Laurens asked.

"Because I have you." Lafayette said lovingly. Laurens blushed red, groaning a bit. Lafayette was soon done with the dishes, washing his hands and drying them off.

"We have some time to spare, what do you want to do in the meantime?" he asked him. Laurens thought about it, not really sure.

"What do you wanna do, Lafayette?" He asked him back.

"Anything you want to do." Lafayette said.

"This is getting us nowhere." Laurens chuckled. Lafayette rested his elbows against the counter, letting Laurens keep clinging to him. There was an aggressive knock on the door. Loud and harsh.

"Hercules Mulligan." They both said and smiled.
