The door swings inward revealing the small room. Two twin sized beds neatly made with white sheets and pillows sit on either side of the room. The walls are a light brown colour decorated with pictures of trees. There is a door in the far corner witch I assume is the bathroom. I begin looking around, going through drawers and looking under the beds. I'm relieved to find that I am in fact alone in the room. Despite the little hotel sized soaps and other toiletries, I don't find anything in the bathroom. I take one last glance around the room before heading out the door. It is raining steadily now, and if it weren't for the roof that goes out about 3 feet or so from the wall I would be soaked. I walk toward the room where Fin was to see what he found. I'm careful to stay under the shelter of the roof. The door is propped open just a bit, I figure it so he can listen for danger. I am about to push the door open when it swings inward. Fin is startled by me unexpectedly being outside the door.
"Sorry, I was just coming to check what you found," I smile awkwardly.
"It's all good, I just wasn't expecting someone to be just outside the door. I didn't find anything really. How about you, find anything?" He replies.
"I got nothing," I answer.
"It's starting to rain pretty bad," He says with a disappointed look.
"Ya, it's disgusting," Ruby says as she joins us outside. Fin and I walk toward Ruby.
"Did you find anything," I ask Ruby.
"It was empty," she says.
"I wonder what's taking Kilik so long?" Fin questions.
"Maybe he found something," I say. Ruby's eyes widened.
"What if..." She is cut off by Kilik joining us outside.
"Two more rooms guys, let's get this done," Kilik says as he looks out at the rain. Ruby sighs slightly in relief and we all walk toward the last two rooms.
"Scarlett and I can do room one," Fin smiles as he hands Kilik the other set of keys. Fin and I step over to the door marked one. As Fin puts the key in the lock I take a deep breath. The door swings inward. The room looks very similar to the other one I saw, except this one has two queen sized beds both made with white pillows and blankets. The wall is the same shade of light brown as the other room.
"I'll check under the beds you check the bathroom," I say. Fin replies with a nod and goes toward the washroom. I look under the beds and find nothing. I check the rest of the room and find nothing.
"You guys find anything?" Ruby asks as her and Kilik come into the room. Fin comes out of the bathroom when he hears the others.
"Fin you want to go bring the car over here?" Kilik says.
"Ya, I got it man." Fin replies before heading out the door. It doesn't take long for Fin to bring the car over, and when he dose Kilik goes out to bring Zeina in from the truck. Fin brings Thomas in with him. Thomas looks a bit damp and tired as he smiles at me. Fins dark hair is dripping with rain and his shirt is vary wet. Fin kicks off his shoes by the door as he comes inside. He even helps Thomas take his shoes off. Kilik comes in with Zeina not long after. Kilik's clothes were soaked and wet strands of his long hair dangled in his face. Zeina shook just before coming in the door but she was also quite wet.
"The rain is getting pretty bad out there. " Kilik says as he kicks off his shoes next to Fin's and lets Zeina off the leash.
"Ya, I can see that." Fin replies as he starts to remove his wet shirt. His chest is strong but not scary, you know like a bodybuilder's muscles. I'm not a big fan of super strong muscular guys. Fin has the perfect amount of muscle. I find myself staring slightly. Fin had brought in two cans of fruit cocktail and a water bottle.
"It's not much of a diner but it's something." He smells as he sits on the floor and starts to open the cans. Thomas sits down rather quickly, eager to eat something. Kilik sits next to him and pulls a hand full of dog food from his pocket for Zeina. She happy eats it out of his hand rather messily. He wipes the dog slobber from his hand onto his pants and gestures for Ruby and I to sit. Ruby sits next to Kilik so I sit next to Fin completing the crucial. Fin pulls 4 plastic forks from his pocket.
"Oops I thought I grab enough. I guess you and Thomas will have to share one." He says looking at me. I reply with a nod and take a fork. We all take turns eating from the cans trying to be fare about it.
I give Thomas a few forks full before I take a bite. As the sweet taste of peaches and pairs enters my mouth my stomach begins to growl. I try to ignore the growing and continue to share with Thomas. I think of how nice it would be to have a cooked meal right now. I take a large drink from the bottle of water to try to get the thought from my head.
"Hopefully tomorrow we can get a fire going to cook something." Kilik says.
"Or maybe we can find a camp stove in the town nearby." Ruby suggests. I take another bit of fruit.
"That sounds like a decent plan." Fin says before taking another bite. We finish the food not long after that but I can tell everyone it still hungry. Ruby drinks the juice from the can and Kilik does the same." I guess that means we're sharing a bed tonight." Fin smiled. Fin was in his boxers now, leaving me the only one still in my clothes. Well, I didn't feel all that damp but I decided to remove my pants and get into bed.
" can you just go lock the door?" I said to fin. Fin walked over to the door and turned the lock allowing me to hear the click of the lock engaging. Then he crawled into bed and put his cold hands right on my back. I retaliated by putting my cold feet on him. I rolled over and allowed myself to cuddle up to Fin, the warmth of his chest was soothing and made me sleepy.
