Chris was positive the world hated him, why else would he be in this predicament. It had been a month since the family party and somehow, he had been tricked into clothes shopping with Maddy. Chris liked to think he was a pretty patient guy but after standing in a shop for an hour he was beginning to understand why Dave and Mr Parker were all too happy to let Chris go shopping with her.

The girl in question was in the changing rooms getting changed into the first outfit she had seen. Chris stood outside, impatiently tapping his foot. He was wandering if he should go across to the café and wait when she appeared, clad in red and black checked shirt, blue denim jeans and a black pair of dock martins.

"What do you think?" she asked innocently, Chris felt his mouth go dry slightly

"Uh... oh uh you look beautiful" he complimented her, she raised her eyebrow.

"You say that with such confidence" she taunted. Chris smiled

"You do... it's just you won't be able to keep the boys of you tonight" he warned. Maddy giggled

"Why do you care? You're not my dad" her eyes shone with mirth

"Yeah, yeah whatever just get changed" she rolled her eyes before going and getting changed into her regular clothes and taking her items up to the till. Chris paid for them at which she began to protest

"I can't let you do that! It's too expensive!" she protested. Chris shrugged

"Maybe but hey it's the least I can do, you dragged me on this torture of a shopping trip" he groaned. Maddy punched his arm

"It wasn't that bad!" Chris stared at her

"You do know you dragged me around the entire shopping centre just to end up at the first shop with the first thing you wanted" she scowled before punching him again.

"Hey! Why are you abusive! This is mean!" Chris moaned

"Whatever mister cry baby" she yelled. Chris laughed

"Whatever Mrs.... Mrs mean head" Maddy put her hands on her hips

"Mean head? Really Christopher that's the best you can so" Chris rolled his eyes.

"At least it's original" he said, staring at her, she stared back and all to soon they began a staring contest. They were interrupted when a laugh distracted them

"You two are adorable!" the cashier said. The pair blushed

"How long have you two been together?" she continued. Maddy and Chris tried to deny it but their protests were unheeded as the cashier handed them their change.

"Well whether you two are together or not you two are absolutely adorable" the pair just grabbed their belongings and murmured a thank you before running away.

Later that night Chris was sat on Maddy's bed as the teen got ready,

"You know you don't have to go, right?" Chris asked as Maddy complained about being dragged to yet another high school party. Maddy sighed

"Christopher dear, you know absolutely nothing about the social responsibilities of a teenager" Chris rolled his eyes and left her to get ready. It was an hour later when she was ready, her face thoroughly made up and her hair hung in loose curls. She walked over to Dave and Mr Parker

"Be back by eleven" Dave said. Mr Parker laughed

"Make that twelve thirty" he told her. Maddy laughed and kissed them both on the cheek

"I'll be back for twelvish I love you both" she said before grabbing her phone and some money.

"I'll text you and yes uncle Dave I won't get in a car with any drunk drivers and I'll be safe, love you both bye!" then she ran out the door before either parent nor uncle could protest.

Chris drove her to the party in near silence, he didn't want to let her go, he was being overprotective he knew but parties were stupid and filled with so many mistakes. When he pulled up outside Talia's house he stopped and turned to her

"You'll be careful and call me if you need me?" he asked. She smiled at him warmly

"Of course, just relax Chris, you are way to panicked about this it's just a dumb party" he laughed and kissed her on the cheek

"Yeah I know, now go have fun and call me if you need a lift" she nodded, blushing where his lips touched her cheek before leaving.

For the rest of the night Chris tried to his work but to no avail he kept thinking of Maddy and how it as the first time she had been alone since the accident. He kept thinking that she would get hurt. He had, of course texted her numerous times but she hadn't replied to all of them, he was thinking of ringing her when a knock disturbed him. He opened the door to find Maddy stood there, perfectly okay.

"Mads?" he asked, confused. She stared at him, her eyes betraying the fact that she was scared. Chris let her in and sat on the couch next to her.

"Are you okay?" he asked. She nodded and gulped loudly

"Chris have you ever felt like... like you want something and you know you shouldn't because it's not just your decision and you should really stop feeling the way you do because it's stupid" Chris nodded

"You're feelings are never stupid" she nodded, leaning forward slightly

"Uh-huh, you may not think that in a minuet" she swore

"Why?"

"Because I'm about to do something really reckless" and then she leaned forward, her lips catching his.
