Hey guys, so this is the last piece to my storey, it's short I'm sorry. I have changed some of the conversation between Faith and Violet in chapter forty one, not a big deal but it will be for the second book. Yes, there will be a second book, so stay tuned :)

Epilogue

Jager

Three years later

Tuscany was beautiful this time of year. It was summer so the days were longer and the nights were shorter so Chasseur and I couldn’t come out for long, but it was enough. During the day Dustin and Violet spent time together if he wasn’t being tutored. He was learning Italian but until he spoke it fluently he had an English tutor instead of going to school. We lived of a small ranch on the outskirts of Tuscany, a vineyard in one field a stable in the other. The house itself was small, six bedrooms, two bathrooms, for me this wasn’t much but for Violet and Dustin this was something else, something so much better. We loved this place. Violet had made it her home, for all of us.

As night fell I headed out to the stables, Chasseur hot on my heels pulling on a pair of boots. I’d promised Vee we’d all go riding tonight. It was not one of my favourite things to do but I still wasn’t very good at saying no to her. Chasseur was bounding around like it was Christmas morning. When we walked outside Violet was already on her horse in a few fields over. Her blond hair was loose and whipping around her face as she cantered towards us. Dustin was a hundred metres behind her, not even trying to keep up to her with a relaxed trot. She changed her direction and cantered towards the stables. She rode easily, like a jockey, relaxed, like she’d been riding for years.

Chass and I met her in the stables, she’d dismounted and had started saddling up my horse. She finished buckling a strap and then skipped over to me, I grabbed her by the waist and lifted her up, her legs wrapped around my waist and I bent down to kiss her.

“How’s my girl tonight?”

“Wonderful,” she grinned.

I lifted her up by her waist and she put her hands on my shoulders to balance and kissed her stomach. She giggled. I put her feet back on the ground and brushed a loose strand of hair behind her ear.

“I’m good to go, yous ready?” Chasseur called, after she’d saddled her horse.

Dustin rode in and dismounted, he gave Chasseur a boost onto her horse, smiling at my sister all the while. I didn’t know what Chass saw in him but I guess it’s the same thing I saw in his sister. Though they couldn’t spend the day together, during the night the two were as much attached at the hip as Violet and I. Finally Chasseur had found someone she could spend the rest of her life with even if they weren’t lovers, she wouldn’t be alone anymore. They’d agreed, much to Violets dislike that six months after his eighteenth birthday she would turn him. When I grew old and died, Chasseur would have someone to look after her still. I’d made him promise me he’d keep her safe, that’s he’d never leave her.

Violet climbed onto her horse Nessa and I mounted my horse, we headed out. Vee’s and I rode together, our horses so close and legs touched. She reached her hand out towards me and I took it. Chasseur started calling out to her dog; she’d called the collie Rabbit. Rabbit bounded over to her, walking beside her horse, yipping up at her, she cooed down at it, talking baby talk to it. I grinned and roll my eyes.

Violet was staring at me, her head cocked to the side, frowning.

“What is it?” I asked.

She hesitated. “You look older today.”

“I’ve been aging for three years my love.”

“I know, but it seems it’s finally dawned on me that you’re going to change. You’ve seen me changing for years, I was just a girl when we met, now –”

“Now you’re the most beautiful woman I’ve ever met in my very long life.”

“You have to say that,” she laughed, shaking her head.

“Do not. I don’t lie. Don’t need to.” I shifted in my saddle and quick as a wink I climbed from my horse onto hers, behind her in the saddle. My horse continued walking with hers. “I’ll change, I grow old, you’ll grow old. Just like you wanted. And what’s more, is now my heart beats, my organs work once again, you’ll get everything else you wanted. A family,” I said putting my arms around her waist and laying my hands on her stomach.

She sighed. “I’m going to have everything I ever wanted. All thanks to you.”

“You’re all I ever wanted,” I said, matter of a factly.

She put her hands over mine and looked at her stomach. “Yes, we’ll be happy. There’ll be complications but we’re going to be happy.”

“Always,” I said, climbing back onto my own horse

“Hey!” Dustin called to us. “I’ll race everyone to the tree line.”

No one even answered just gave our horses a kick and we were off.
