I was awoken to the few knocks at my door. Fear that I would be greeted with the same face I decide to change and prepare myself. I threw on a purely plain white dress; it had sky blue detailing on it that looked like flowers. The sleeves were short, but that didn't matter since I had laced up my black cloak that concealed my shoulders in its permanent darkness. I wasn't going to leave this room unarmed, so before I left I slipped my favorite enchanted dagger on a built that went around my thigh and was covered up by my dress.

I was greeted to a new voice, that I'd never heard before. "Hurry up you have breakfast watch this morning," who could it be. I pondered on it for a second as I walked to the door. I definitely wasn't Jackson or The King. It sounded strong and protective like Noah and Mason but there was something poetic about it. I caught a glimpse of my eye before leaving, a bright deep golden color. It, like my hair, was something that set me far apart from Feas, but for some reason I seemed to scream Fea. It was probably how I held myself; brave and unafraid. I threw myself into danger and I know I do it but I'll never stop. But I was afraid, I just had a mask that could cover up my well. I still heard the screams that resided at the bottom, they had fallen down long ago yet their voices were as loud as ever.

I open the door to take the stranger in. He had blond white hair that shouted Fea. It was longer than most; it went down to about his shoulders hiding his oddly pointy ears. He had pointed ears that I could see through a small crack in his hair, he must be a Terra Fea, as pointed ears were one thing almost all Terra Faes had in common. He was wearing a black tunic, that all guards wore, and a standard pair of brown pants. Nothing really stuck out other than the fact that he was Fae.

I looked to the clock, 8:45. What?!? Why, why would someone get up this early and more importantly, why would someone wake someone else up at this ungodly hour. I mean I went to bed at a reasonable 1:30 in the morning. My thoughts slowed when saying that, I had really spent about an hour talking to Mason as we walked out of the forest. "What, I thought I just had to make sure Prince Mason was not getting into trouble," I said tiredly as we started walking through the door.

"No," he paused, "you actually have to do your job. Wait," he paused again, he was ether a scatter brain or trying to keep be at the edge of my seat in his lecture. He went on, "didn't you get the schedule ?" He questioned as our feet hit the marble flooring of the halls.

"No, and if you don't mind me asking," he nodded beckoning me to continue, "who are you?" I asked with a shrug. I knew better than to walk off with a stranger but maybe in the palace thing are different. But my street instinct would always stop me.

He stepped back seeming to be offended, but he answered, "I'm Lucas Alfred," He said all regale. I must have had such I lost look on my face, I had never heard that name before. I beckoned for him to go on and he did, "Captain of the guard," That name I had heard before, I had seen every wiping and was their when every house was burnt. His hands were clean, unlike his father's who had killed thousands. Even Though his hand were clean he had sent troops out to kill so many Feas. He wasn't like his father who killed those Faes out of fear or not knowing enough, he was worse, he killed his own people when he must have known all their pain and incidents.

I paused for a moment and looked at his ears. I tried to go undetected but He covered them up as I turned. His face seemed horrified, "you have very old ears," I said with a face that showed that I knew. He was about to continue but I beat him to it, "you should really try to cover them up. They attracted a lot of attention," as I said this he stood their speechless, so I stepped forward to look him in the eye.

He did manage to stutter a few words, quietly, and undetected, but I managed to pick them up, "how... how... do yo-you... kn-know," he whimpered like his life depended on this secret staying unheard, oh wait it does. It looked as if he thought I was a monster trying to get him hanged, but from my eyes he was the monster. I was never planning on getting him killed, just warning him.

I looked back on what I'd said and laughed. In his eyes it probably sounded like I was trying to get him killed, I probably could have portrayed my message a bit clearer. I brought my hand to my head as it shook, "I'm not going to turn you in, you idiot. It's unspoken code," as I said this his fear seemed to just melt away like butter.

We slowly continued to walk. His fear must have evaporated because he did the unexpected, he spoke. "How did you know?" he asked with an inquisitive look on his face that almost made me laugh.

"Well, you wear it on your face, your hair is practically white, and most importantly, your hair is so thin that I can see your ears through the cracks." I might have been a bit too cruel so I thought of something to lift his spirited that I have destroyed, "I also studied defining features of common Faes, for three years now," I whispered this because if anyone heard it we would both be sent straight to the gallows.

They reached the main hall. It was enormous, with a curved ceiling. There were rows of tables where The Nobles, The Kings and Queens Curt, and Guards sat to eat. There was one more table at the front where The Royals say, elevated like their status. The room was filled with noise that bounced and echoed off the walls. Lucas had stationed me in front of a pillar, at which was probably the main entrance. Lucas didn't give me enough time to take in the room, as he pulled me back to reality with only his words, "okay this is where you'll work. Don't leave it!" He said plainly and straightforward, he had no trust in me and we had only known each other for like 10 minutes! Outrageous! "Afterward you'll leave with Prince Mason to do whatever you two spend your time doing, and I'll give you your schedule later," he said as he started walking somewhere else.

"You know you don't have to give me step by step instructions," I said as I made a fist, but I don't think he heard me, so I just stood there waiting with nothing to do.

______________________________________________________________________

It felt like forever and by forever I mean like two hours, but when you're starving, two hours standing watch when all you can smell are pastries made perfectly like art is forever. But Eventually Mason emerged from the dining room and I could smell the potato farl that he must have had for breakfast. He walked over to me with a smile that screamed he was up to no good. "So.... are you ready to go?" he asked like an excited child. He is two human years older than me, if that's what maturity is then I hope he doesn't rub off on me.

"Good grief, act your age," I said rolling my eyes. But he grew up differently, he was protected and didn't see what I saw, so maybe he just wanted to know what life outside of the palace was like? "Give me a second to grab a banana then we'll leave," after I said that I walked into the madhouse and carefully danced my way around unknowing Nobles like I was in the market. I finally got into the clear and walked over to one of the many tables that held the food. I walked down to the last table, unsurprisingly it still had the most food on it even though it was filled with vibrant oranges, purples, reds, and yellows. I grabbed a bright yellow banana and peeled its dry skin to reveal its cool, damp, fruit. As I danced my way back to Mason I took bites here and there, and by the time I got to him it was completely gone.

I took one look at him to realize he would look out of place at the market. "Okay," I said taking one last whiff of the food as we walked down the hall, "if you want to go to the market and not get assassinated then you're going to need to look as if you belong in the market."

"Isn't it you job to make sure I don't get hurt? And why would anyone want me dead?" he asked dumbfounded. Want him dead! I could give him a list of at least 128 people who would want him dead, including Noah, Sabrina, and October, who would all likely be at the market.

"It is my job to keep you safe, but I can't stop an army, Your Highness," I looked at his face while I said this it had such a strange look, as if it was saying, "What army?" I wouldn't be surprised if he hadn't heard about the Rebellion. "Why don't you wear what you did yesterday when I found you goofing off?" I asked rhetorically, crossing my arm with the attitude that people in the market knew me for.
