I wake up at mid morning, the newly born sun shines through my window. I open it, breathing in the fresh air. Today could end me or ignite something new, and refreshing. I walk over to my counter in the mirror to get my hair ready so that I wouldn't have to spend too much time on it later. I took two braids and ran them back, lacing other hairs through them. They meet up over the rest of my hair and I bobby pinned them there. The rest of my hair fell under the braid in curlies. I threw on a white dress that went to about my knees and a blackish cardigan over it. I slide my black boots over a pair of stretchy gray paints.
I walked over to the door with happy dance like movements. I put my hand on the knob and open it, running into Mason. "Owch," I say under my voice as Mason helps me up onto my feet. "Don't you have guest or something too greet," I said rubbing my head.
"I really like what you did with your hair," he said as we started walking. He stared but the rustling of people getting reading took him back to reality, "I got some time after breakfast and remembered you asking for some help with dancing." I sighed, I really didn't need help.
"I'll be fine, I just won't dance," I said looking up at the ceiling.
"I want your first dance to be with me," he said outloud. He blushed realizing that he had spoken those words. We walked into the "small" room that we spent most of our time in. "Plus, I forgot your diary in my room so I have nothing to do."
I sighed, "I still can't believe you're reading that," I said shaking my head. I take off my boots, throwing them against the wall.
"It's a good book," he said slipping his off as I rolled my eyes. We moved to the center of the room. He guided my hands around his neck as he placed his around my waist. "Now let me guide your feet." He stepped to the left, then the back, to the right, the ended at the front. My feet followed him around. "You're a natural," he said with a sigh, "so, sadly I don't believe we'll be practicing for long." He paused for a second before whispering under his breath, "I wanted to hold you here for longer."He spoke from his heart but I could tell from his blushing I could tell that was supposed to stay in his mind.
After a few minutes of awkward silence and blushing I broke the ice, "you're a lot different when it's just us," I said with a sigh.
"What do you mean?" he asked with an almost offended look in his eyes.
"Well, you're calm and know just what to say or do and you have a different look in your eyes when it just us, but when other people are involved you emotions, mostly anger jealousy," I could tell he didn't like me listing off his quirks so I shortened the long list, "and embarrassment, take control."
He looked at me with a calm, happy gleam in his eyes, "I'm just going to focus on the complement," he said as I laughed.
The counts played in my head 5-6-7-8,5-6-7-8. We didn't have a piano so we just whispered them under our breaths Left, back, right, front, we repeated the step, making jokes and laughing at each other. I had my head down checking my steps until Mason put his hand on my chin, lifting my eyes to his. We both blushed. I tried keeping my eyes on his but I messed up my step. My foot landed on his and I lost my balance, falling backwards. He moved his hand up, putting it on my shoulder blades, to catch me. He stood there looking into my eyes as I blushed. He leaned in closer, pulling my face closer to his. He had a small smirk on his face and a mischievous smile on his face. I didn't do anything but look into his eyes. His lips touched mine. It was calm, planed, and warm, but there was this desperation like he had been holding back, trying with all his strength not to kiss me. We stood there for a moment or two before he moved back and blushed bright red. "I'm sorry," He said moving his hand to his forehead, "I really have been trying not to theis few days."
