The meetings were incredible boring. From the monotone voice of The King to the sarcastic tone from Jackson. I would have preferred a full day of practice with Lucas to standing against a pillar watch old men yell at each other. It was like this all day, It would've probably helped if I took a break but I didn't want to face Noah. His words, the truth stayed with me, echoing in my head.

Says the person that would take the blood oath for the enemy's son at the drop of a pin.

I sigh and walk out with Mason. He hasn't said much to me lately, I believe he might have read something not so good. He grabs me by the arm but I shake him off, "what was that for?"

"You should probably be a tad more formal in public. You don't want anyone getting ideas, Your Highness," I see him grow red, at first out of embarrassment but then it turned more into rage. "I'll be going out early so I won't be here after dinner," I said with a bow as he walked into the main room.

He stared at me with big eyes before leaning in to whisper into my ear, "don't call me that," I rolled my eyes. So, he wants to be treated normal and apparently he would like me dead to.

"Yes Your Highness," I said with a smirk as I turn around walking back to my room.

I threw on my uniform and started walking back to my post when I heard footsteps behind me. They were strong and powerful, coming from someone likely of high nobility. I turned around to see The King with Jackson fallowing him. I instantly forced myself into a bow. "Ah, Kaitlin I just sent someone for you but looks like I've found you myself," The King said over a sadistic chuckle. "I've heard of a rumor of a rebel attack," Jackson and I grew pale. I felt sick to my stomach hoping that was all he knew. "When you keep watch on Friday I would like you to be extra careful. We will be very vulnerable," I had to bit down on my lip to keep myself from letting something slip from my big mouth.

Jackson sighed out of relief and his dad showed him away. I stood up, straightening my back and getting ready for watch. The King shook his head as I started walking away. He came closer to y ear, "I don't want you getting close to my son," I stood straighter out of fear.

"Would never think about it, Your Highness," I lied.

"Good because you know what will happen to you if my wish doesn't come true," I closed my eyes hoping to get dismissed, "now get back to watch, girl," I sighed and walked away. I hid in a random room letting The King get ahead of me. I walked to my post and waited, and waited.

I when to my room grabbed my staff, cloak, and heading for the forest. I closed my eyes as I heard talking from around the corner. "So, I heard you got you beat up by a newbie," I couldn't tell who was talking but I could tell they are talking about Lucas.

"I heard she was a girl to," someone else added.

"It's not good to lie," I really had to keep my rage under check with that comment from Lucas. I rolled my eyes rounding the corner. I slammed into Lucas pushing both of us to the ground.

"Sorry, I should walked with my eyes open," I said standing up. Lucas stood up blushing as I threw on a malicious smile.

"Yes Kaitlin common logic would be smart," I rolled my eyes. "You look like your going out, you know you have training tomorrow," I rolled my eyes trying to dodge a lecture.

"I know but I've been growing tired of easily beating you up and I'm going to go and get some real practice," I put on a disappointed face. "To quote you it's not good to lie," I said walking away living Lucas speechless.
