Chapter 43 - The Quest That No One Decided To Do part 1

Hollis POV

I watched Nadia playing with a baby. Zander trembled looking at the ring she was holding.

"Another Erufu?" he asked.

"Yea" she smiled softly.

"But....he's too young, he shouldn't be here. Someone could hurt or even kidnap him" he said folding his arms.

"He should be with his parents" I sighed.

The baby cried and crawled in her lap.

"Why is he crying?!" Zander and I tried to make him stop crying.

"You....know this baby is Errol and his mother died" she sighed.

"Errol?!" we stared at him giggling.

"He's so cute!" she screamed placing him in my arms.

I trembled trying not to drop him, "I'm not good with babies" I smiled nervously.

"It's good to practice from now on" she laughed.

Zander glared at me and took him away from me, "I'm an Erufu so I should be holding him" he glared at me harder.

"Sure, by all means" I smirked.

Errol puked on his shoulder and laughed.

"Errol!" Zander said angrily.

Errol fell asleep in his arms and sucked his fingers.

"See, since I'm an Erufu he's going to feel more comfortable with me" Zander smiled proudly.

"Congratulations" I sighed.

Errol POV

5 years ago.....

I crawled in mom's lap and she laughed rubbing my hair. Mrs. Rushmore came and gave her a letter.

Mom smiled lifting me in the sky, "You are a Fire wizard at a young age!" she hugged me tightly.

I always felt safe and comfortable in her arms. She took out the ring I always wore to be in my Ningena form and I transformed into a teenager. I had a chain before that only transformed me into a child and I went to Saffron's elementary school.

"Mama?" I became confused.

"You are all grown up!" she giggled.

"Mama, I'm scared" I sobbed.

"Errol, I'm here....now come on try to walk" she smiled softly.

I crawled back into her lap then she helped me on my feet, "Errol....come on, this form you can walk" she sighed.

I walked slowly and almost lost my balance. She chuckled poking my nose. She coughed and looked  pale.

"Mama....are you okay?" I spoke softly.

"Yes my baby," she smiled weakly. She looked at Yōso Academy advertisement then gave me, "it's going to take some years for you to learn to read" she smirked.

"Mama, I'll learn" I hugged her tightly.

"Um....Errol, I'm struggling to breathe" she smiled nervously.

"Sorry!" I quickly released her.

4 years forward....

I finally got to attend to Yōso Academy. I sent a letter to her everyday about my days at school.

"I got friends and remember Saffron....she still looks like you" I wrote on a blue paper. She always loved colourful papers to read things off.

Some months past by and I realized she has been replaying slower than usual.

Back to present day....

I couldn't sleep so I went to Saffron's room. I knocked on her door but her roommate opened the door.

"Where's Saffron?" I asked.

"She's training Nadia" she sighed.

"Oh....when will she come back?"

"Stop asking questions you weird boy, why do you always come here to see her? She's not that worth it" she said angrily.

I froze staring at her and felt a weird pain in my chest, "I want to see her" I spoke softly.

"You are so annoying!" she slammed the door.

I trembled going down the dark hallway. I thought I heard mama's voice but it was just my mind thinking that.

I closed my eyes trying to ignore the darkness around me. Saffron bumped into me and felt my forehead, "You are sick....this is bad" she said looking at me worriedly.

"Am I annoying?" I said not looking at her.

She looked at the tears running down my cheeks, "Errol, who said that to you?" she rubbed my hair.

"You ignored the question" I clenched my fists.

"You are not annoying, Saffron just wants to know who said it to you" she sighed.

"I can't tell you, I don't want anything to happen to you" I mumbled.

She hugged me tightly and combed my hair with her fingers, "Errol, Saffron is here" she smiled softly.

"Stop talking like mama" I cried harder.

"I'm not-"

I ran away from her and went outside. It was quite and I heard weird noises. A lady took off my ring and grabbed me. I screamed and bit her hand but she still held me under her arm.

"One Erufu down" she smiled.

I cried trying to reach my ring and she covered my mouth and went through a portal into a room. I looked outside realizing I was home....but the place was destroyed and people crying.

"The wizards didn't come from your little quest, now you all will obey me" she smirked.

I saw Zander in a corner in his Erufu form with his hands and feet tied, "Don't do anything to him! He's just a baby" he said angrily.

"I won't" she chuckled throwing me in his direction.

He quickly used his body to break my fall, "Errol....you okay?" he clenched his teeth trying to hide his pain. I nodded and hugged his waist. "God damn it....I should of made my team do the quest but I was afraid of them seeing my parents" he looked at her angrily.

The other Erufu wizards in their Erufu forms cried hugging each other. She laughed putting on a crown she made from our transform jewelry.

I hope the others know we are here....
