Flora POV

Nadia's first day of kindergarten wasn't pretty. She cried for the whole day and I heard she was calling me especially her father. I was on a quest so I didn't get to see her go but I got a chance to see her back from school.

"Um....hi, Nadia" I smiled weirdly.

"Hi, mommy" she sniffled, not looking at me.

I knelled before her and ruffled her hair. "What's wrong?" I asked.

She looked at me then ran to her father that was in the kitchen. I sighed, looking at them.

Of course....she barely recognize me...

Kenta gave me a hug then kissed my cheek. "She is just isn't feeling well" he smiled softly.

She ran to her room and slammed the door. We sat down in the living room couch. He folded his arms and took a deep breath.

"The students called her a motherless child. Well of course they got that idea from their parents" he sighed.

"What?!" I said angrily.

"She tried not to cry but she couldn't keep it in when I left" he said, clenching his teeth.

We went to her room and saw her asleep, hugging her large stuffed bunny. He kissed her forehead then she grabbed his hand.

"Don't leave, daddy" she hiccupped.

She ignored me. I noticed her burnt bedsheets under the bed. She blocked my sight and smiled nervously.

"Nadia, what was that?" I asked boldly.

"Nothing....mommy" she laughed nervously.

Kenta tried to see them but she accidentally burnt him. She cried, hiding her hands behind her.

I never wanted her to become one.....

I hugged her and calmed her down by wiping her tears. "Shh....it's okay. Your mommy has those powers too" I said softly.

She stopped crying then tilted her head to one side. "What do you mean?" she asked.

I created a small flame on my finger and smirked. "It's cool, huh?" I chuckled.

She giggled then tried to make one but it burnt my blouse off my body. I glared at Kenta whistling and trying not to look at me.

"Daddy funny" she laughed.

"Your father is perverted" I mumbled.

He smiled, tickling her. "At least someone has a good sense of humor" he smirked.

I stood up on my feet proudly. "Let's see what you can do" I chuckled.

He smiled nervously. "Um Flora-"

"Yay!" she clapped her hands.

~🎆~

I carried them to a large field with an amazing view. Nadia looked cute in her little suit she picked to try out her powers.

Kenta sat on the ground and watched us. Nadia and I were far apart ready to try out her powers.

"Flora, she's just a 3 year old!" he shouted.

"Pfft.....she's my daughter. She's strong to handle this" I smiled proudly.

"She might get hurt, honey" she sighed.

"Oh please" I rolled my eyes.

I smirked, cracking my knuckles. Fire surrounded me as I chuckled glaring at her. She giggled, clapping her hands instead of getting ready to fight.

I controlled fire at her. She struggled holding it. "Mommy....it hurts" she hiccupped.

"No it doesn't. Fire cannot hurt Fire Wizards!" I laughed richly.

Kenta looked at her worriedly as she tried to hold the fire. "Flora! Something doesn't seem right!" he shouted.

She controlled the fire away from her instead of absorbing it. She cried, curling up into a ball. "It hurts" she cried harder.

We ran to her and saw her burnt hands. "Oh....god" he said slowly.

I slammed my hands against the ground. "I forgot she's half human" I said.

I was angry at myself. I don't even know my own daughter.

She cried harder as he treated them by placing them in a pond of water.

"Flora, it's okay. You didn't know fire affects my kind" he said with an emotionless face.

"I hurt my own daughter" I said in a shaky tone.

She wiped her tears and looked at her hands. "They hurt, daddy"

"Mommy is really sorry. I'll get ice cream for you sweetie" he smiled softly.

~🎆~

I stayed in my room for days. Dark and quite. Kenta didn't bother to come in even though it was his room too because of my anger.

I smelt a scent of a carrot in the room. My nose twitched as I tried to find it. My eyes laid on Nadia in her pajamas and a carrot in her hand.

"I know you like this. You must be very hungry" she smiled softly.

"I don't think you should be near me" I sighed.

"Why? You are my mommy" she giggled.

I felt a weird feeling in my chest. I smiled suddenly without realizing it.

She opened the curtains. The windows showed a nice view of the night sky.

"Daddy is very worried about you," she said, looking at the sky then she looked at me. "I'm worried about you too" she did a toothy smile.

I crawled into my bed and covered myself with a thick blanket. "I'm fine. You need to go to bed" I shuttered.

She laughed, snuggling into the bed then laid down beside me. "I'll sleep here" she smirked.

"Stubborn like your father" I glared at her.

"I have been told that....many times" she chuckled.

I hesitated to answer her then she smiled in victory. She poked my nose and rubbed my hair.

"You know you are extremely cute mommy. I can see why daddy loves you" she smiled proudly.

I blushed extremely. I hid in the blanket then she found me and cursed my eyes with her little flashlight.

"Oh fuck...my eyes" I said angrily.

"Bad word" she gasped.

"I'm an adult"

"I'm a child"

I glared at her. "How did you know that fuck was a bad word, Ms. Toski?"

"I'm a child learning new things, Mrs. Toski" she smiled nervously.

"You heard it from your father, didn't you?" I sighed.

"Yep" she laughed nervously.

I rolled my eyes at her laughing evilly. She hugged me around my waist and closed her eyes.

"I want to be like you" she grinned.

"You can't-"

She slowly closed her eyes and smiled. She fell asleep. I kissed her forehead.

"I don't want to lose you" I said as tears ran down my cheeks.
