-You've Been Saving For His Hot Blend, Love?

"Yes, yes, that would be amazing. Thank you so much. Yes, see you tomorrow. Bye!" Dan hung up the phone and put it back in his jean jacket pocket. He had just gotten off of the phone with Mrs. Rinspel, whom has now given him a part-time job working with her all around the city cleaning and pruning anything aesthetically out of place. This is so amazing! I have to tell Phil... Oh right, Phil! It was almost about the time Dan was supposed to be at Starbucks again... But it's, like, ten blocks away, and I'm not even working today!.... "Ugh, fine, I'll do it," Dan said out loud.
And, with that, Dan laced on some yellow high top converse, checked his hair in the small mirror by the front door, and headed out.  As soon as he left, however, a beautiful woman with flowing, honey brown hair from down the hall came rushing towards him, a worried expression on her face and a pug in her arms.
"Oh, wait, Dan!  Dan, please hold on!"  She shouted in a sweet Italian accent.  Dan was about to wonder why she was so nervously yelling for him, but then he remembered why.
"Oh, shoot!  I'm so sorry, Marzia!  I completely forgot about taking care of Maya for you today!..."
"No, everything is okay, Dan.  I just need to go quickly if I am going to make the flight," she said politely.
"Wait," Dan gently stopped her from rushing out the door with Maya now in his arms by putting a hand on her shoulder. "Why can't Felix take care of her? Is he the type that is too busy to take time out of screaming at video games to take care of his loved ones?"
Marzia giggles. "No, no. We're going out of town, is all. We're going to visit my family in Italy this week." She almost started off again, but didn't. "Oh, that's right. You only need to have Maya for part of the day, until about three. Sophie will be at my apartment later when she needs to be fed. Swing by then, okay?  Thank you so much, Dan!" Dan gave his "it's no problem at all" spiel, and Marzia finally went out, taking the stairs instead of the elevator. He himself did the opposite.
Once Dan was downstairs and outside, with Maya on a cute pink leash (awww!), they both headed off to the right to seek out the mellow Starbucks and smoothly-blended Phil. The walk was exhausting, as Dan couldn't find it in his heart to take the tube rather than giving both himself and Maya the exercise that they (mainly I) desperately needed.
"Maybe that could have been worse," Dan panted out in between breaths, now only feet away from his destination. "How about you Maya?" Maya gave her response by pulling forward on the leash, obviously not ready to go easy on Dan's poor, weak, soul. Hey! That's not fair... Though it is a bit flabby these days... Pfft, whatever.
Dan was now standing in front of the door into the cafe, lovingly greeted by a sign that read: SORRY, no dogs allowed. Well this is just great.  Dan knew it was an awful idea to leave Maya outside alone on a hot day like this, so he decided to wait outside until someone else opened the door so he could motion Phil towards him.  But...  Where is everyone?
The streets were nearly completely empty, except for a few restaurants and church-frick!  Today is Easter! The Howell boy could not believe that he had told Phil that he would meet him at his closed coffee shop on a holiday and on a street ten blocks away from his apartment.  JesUs on a fRickin' tricycle!  To this, Dan solemnly started humming Linkin Park's "In The End." It's fitting enough...
Dan turned back to the left, as he was staring at the empty streets in pity for his sad heart. He took the first few steps he needed to arrive back home. If there's anything the amateur blogger has learned from the past week, it is that you can't blog about every failure you have. Dan was even expecting to bump into Phil the moment he started back up the pavement. He was a quarter way home now. How foolish can I be? Halfway home, and Dan was through with the awful beginning to his day. He checked his phone, which read that is was one twenty.  Suddenly, Dan slowed to a stop.  His day could not be another filled with self pity.
"C'mon, Maya!  We're going to make something of today before I have to go to work."  Dan plugged in some headphones and walked off towards his next destination, Maya happily following along, bouncing on every small step.

---

Dan had to be completely honest with himself:  if anyone had asked him just where he was headed, he would have answered with the question "Do you know where you're walking?"  The person would answer, "Well, yes actually-" "Your mum."  As the scenario played out in Dan's head, he couldn't help but chuckling softly.  I hope no one thinks I'm a creep...  Although he honestly had no planned course of direction, Dan at last hit the spot where he thought his body must have been leading him.  That spot was at the foot of the gazebo steps in the very back of the park, and the place was not void of human life.  Phil was sitting next to the cheery, blonde haired waitress from Dan's apartment's cafe.

AN:
Yes, yes, it is I, the Easter guy... Well, it's Emily, but yeah, Easter.... Candy... Phan baking /lemon/ meringue ;)) *I'll exit my own fic*
Anyways, that chapter was a long piece full of procrastination and errors bUT IT IS DONE! I hope the cliffhanger made it all worth the wait, especially the Fall Out Boy themed title + a reference to Dan and Phil playing a game with Louise on AmazingPhil. (I think we can all agree that Dan looked super awkward during that whole thing.)
Whelp, I'm going to wrap this up by saying happy Easter. Eat some candy. Hug a duckling. Pet your local bunny. Go and set fire to all of your enemies... Maybe not that last part, but that's up to personal preference :/... Anywho, I'm out! Byeee
