Chapter 2

Yn's POV

I woke up tired as hell from last night. I had so much fun! I danced the whole night away and I got to do it with my bae.

I yawned and went to the bathroom to brush my teeth and shower. After doing that, I found leggings, a sweatshirt, and some sneakers to wear. It's just going to be a bum day for me since it's just a college fair. I went downstairs and smelled my mom cooking breakfast.

"Hey mom" I smiled.

She ignored me and kept cooking. Did I do something wrong? "Hey mom" I repeated. She still ignored me.

Torion was in the living room. I went in there with him. "What's wrong with mom?"

He shrugged and looked back into the kitchen. "She's been like that all morning" he said as he faced me again.

"Do you think it's about the party? I knew we should've told her instead of writing a note!"

He shrugged again. "It could be. There's only one way to find out."

We both got up and walked back into the kitchen. "Mom?" I asked.

She turned to face me. Her eyes were red and puffy and she looked like she hasn't gotten any sleep.

"Mom? Were you up all night waiting for us? We told you you didn't have to worry" Torion said as he helped her sit down.

I took over cooking the food. She needs to rest. "Mom, we're sorry-" I began but she cut me off.

"It's not about the party."

"Then, what is it then?" Torion asked.

She sighed. "Nothing, I'm just stressed out."

I finished cooking the food and made everyone a plate. "Just relax mom" I said to her. "Where's dad?" I looked around and didn't see him anywhere.

"His meeting" she said in a low, angry voice.

I grabbed Torion and took him into the living room. He may be annoying as hell sometimes, but he's like a best friend to me. I whispered, "Dad's usually home from his meetings at this time. He always makes it in time for breakfast."

"I know" he whispered back. "None of this is making sense."

"What do we do now?"

"We wait" he answered.

"Wait for what?! A miracle?" I scream-whispered.

"The truth" he whispered back. "It always comes out" he repeated.

"Do you have any idea of what could be going on?" I asked.

He shook his head. "I know just as much as you know, remember?"

I nodded and folded my arms. "I don't understand any of this..."

"Me neither" he said.

We walked back into the kitchen and began eating. I looked over at mom and her head was down the whole time. She didn't say anything at the table like she usually does. She just stared at her food the whole time.

"So, it's only 9:00. Wanna go somewhere before the college fair starts?" I asked my mom and Torion.

"Yeah" Torion said.

My mom shook her head.

"Why not mama?"

She didn't answer. It's like she's a zombie! Maybe she'll be better later on.

Torion shrugged. "Are you sure?"

She nodded.

I sighed. "Mama, whatever it is, you can talk to us about it" I assured her.
