Love You More: A Rose and Adrian Love Story

We Found Him

When we got to the dance studio, we were a little late, so I rushed Emma in as fast as I could. When her instructor, Anastasiya, saw me, she sighed.

"Late again, are we?" She asked in her very thick Russian accent.

"Uh yeah sorry." I said, sending Emma backstage with Anastasiya's assistant.

"And why is that?" She inquired, like I was causing her grave harm.

"Because I have a 3 year old who freaks out when she can't find her stuffie, and a 5 month old who either is pooping or crying. I'm sure you'll understand when you have children."  I said sourly. She huffed and went back stage. I went and sat down with Adrian and Toby, but just as the show was about to start, my cell phone rang. It was Lissa.

"Hey, I'm at Emma's recital right now, I can't talk." I said when I picked up the phone.

"You're gonna wanna hear this." She warns me. I look over at Adrian who is giving me a puzzled look.

"I'll be right back." I told him

"But the shows about to start!" He says. I give him the look that says it's important, and he sighs.

"Fine." He says

"Thank you baby!" I say, kissing his cheek.

"Yeah, yeah." He says, waving me off. I get up and exit out the back door. I feel bad for leaving, but if Lissa says it's important, it must be.

"What's up?" I ask her.

"We found him." She says. When I hear that, my stomach instantly drops. She had been looking for Dimitri for years and now she finally found him! The bad part is, I don't know if I want him to be found. But I guess it's not really about me, it's about saving Dimitri's soul. Right before Lissa and Christian had started looking for him, we found out a way to turn Strigoi back to their original state. At first, I was really excited, but then after about a year of looking for him, I gave birth to Emma and I finally gave up. In the beginning, Lissa had promised me that she would never stop trying to find him, and she didn't.

"Rose?" Lissa asks.

"Yeah Lis?"

"Are you ok?"

"I don't know." I tell her

"Well we need your help, so you are going to have to be ok." She says. I stay silent. What am I going to do? What do I tell Adrian? What about my kids? What will Dimitri say about my new life?

"Rose?"

"Ok, I'm ok."

"Are you coming?" She asks. I sigh.

"Yeah, I'll be there as soon as I can." I tell her.

"See you then." She says as she hangs up. I walk back inside and see my little Emma preforming in front of the entire crowd, and I was proud of her. I went and sat down next to Adrian, who was feeding Toby a bottle in his arms.

"What's going on? You look stressed." He whispered to me.

"I have to go." I whispered back.

"Where?"

"With Lissa."

"When?"

"Now."

"Why?"

At that, I sigh. I don't want to tell him. I don't even want to leave, but I know I have to.

"Rose, you can tell me whatever it is. I'll be there for you no matter what. I love you." He said. I looked in his eyes and knew he meant it, which is why I didn't want to mess things up. I took a deep breath.

"They found him." I said. His face turned hard for a minute before it softened into something not quite warm, but not ice cold either. Then he sighed.

"Fine. Go. I've got the kids. But Rosemarie Ivashkov, if you get hurt, I swear to got I will hunt him down and kill him myself. Do you understand me?" He demands. I breathe a sigh of relief.

"Thank you so much for understanding. I promise I will be safe. I love you so so much. Please give Emma a big hug and tell her I'm proud of her and that I'm sorry." I say. Leaning down, I kiss the sleeping Toby on the head, and then give Adrian a quick but passionate kiss on the lips.

"I love you all, I'll be back soon." I say.

"You better be." I hear Adrian say as I rush out the back door, tears welling in my eyes.
