I look at Adrian who was smirking from the driver side as I sang Panic! At the disco. We were on our way back to Court. I was in a cheery mood, which was surprising considering what we all had just been through. After we finally got Dimitri to calm down, we put him in the back seat of Abe's car. He let Adrian drive since he had some 'important business' to take care of. Meaning he had to clean up Dimitri's mess.
'"What a beautiful wedding
What a beautiful wedding, " says a bridesmaid to a waiter
"And, yes, but what a shame
What a shame the poor groom's bride is a whore."'
I put my finger to my mouth as I say the word whore, throwing my head back as I sang the chorus.
'I chime in with a
"Haven't you people ever heard of closing a goddamn door?"

As I look back to check on Dimitri, I see that he is awake, staring at me with wide eyes.
"Morning Comrade!" I say, flashing him a smile.
"Please Rose, just don't." He said, putting his hand up to me.
"Fine." I say flippantly. Turning back around, I noticed that I missed part of the song, which made me sad. I put my hand out for Adrian to take it. As he does, I begin to use it as a fake microphone.
'Oh, well in fact

I mean, technically, our marriage is saved

He laughs at me and I smile at him.
"You guys are married?" I hear Dimitri ask from the back seat.
"Uh, yeah. Since, like 4 years ago." I said.
"How long have I been a strigoi?"
"Six very long years." I replied. He didn't respond. Just then we pulled into the parking garage at the Royal Court. Lissa was waiting there with Emma, Toby, and Caleb. I hopped out of the car to go get my kids while Adrian helped Dimitri out of the car. Or at least he tried to, as he declined all help from either of us.
As I rounded the car, Emma saw me and came running up to me and I leaned down so she could jump into my arms.
" Mommy I missed you!" She basically yelled in excitement.
"Awe I missed you too, Bug!"
Dimitri looked at me with sadness in his eyes.
" Is that him, Momma?" Caleb asked Lissa.
"Yes baby, that's him." Lissa answered. Caleb stared at Dimitri for a second before breaking free of Lissa's grip. When he reached Dimitri, he looked at him for a second, unsure, and then threw his arms around Dimitri's waist. He hesitated before enveloping Caleb into a hug. Looking over at Lissa, she looked terrified. She didn't know what Dimitri was going to do and to be completely honest, neither did I. But to our relief, Caleb let go.
He looked up at Dimitri and smiled. Dimitri smiled back with the smile that I had grown to love. It broke my heart that these things had happened to him.
All of a sudden, we were surrounded by court guardians. They handcuffed Dimitri and began to drag him away. I was about to fight for him when Adrian wrapped his arms around me and held me back. I stopped fighting immediately.
"He will be ok." Adrian said, pulling me closer. I buried my face in his chest and began to cry as Adrian stroked my hair.
