What have I done?!

Taking a leap of faith, my group and I entered through the small opening. The other side revealed a room that was poorly lit and had a large wooden door on one side with two strigoi standing on either side. The one on the left lunged at me and I quickly staked him in the chest, piercing his heart. The one on the right was already dead when I looked around.

"Now who's underestimating who?" I said

I walked up to the door, deliberating whether or not I truly was ready for this. But this wasn't for me. It was for Dimitri. I gritted my teeth and steeled my resolve as I pushed the door open. The sight I saw was by far the worst thing I had ever seen.

Blood spattered the walls and leaked from the bodies of group one surrounding him. Dimitri Belikov was sitting in a chair in the middle of the room looking calm. He was covered in blood that popped out on his white suit. I had never seen Dimitri look so...lethal. He smirked at me and stood.

"Ah, Rose. Just couldn't stay away could you? Well, I guess this is my chance to finally do away with you." He said menacingly.

"In your wildest dreams comrade. Oh wait..." I replied.

"I see you still haven't grown from your childish remarks."

"I'll show you childish!" I said as I lunged at him. He turned and shot his leg out, kicking me in the chest and knocking me back a couple steps. I lunged at him again and this time managed to actually do some damage, shoving him against the wall and staking him in the stomach to weaken him. Once I got him on his knees, I pulled his arms back behind him and gave Adrian a clear shot at his heart. He didn't hesitate, plunging the charmed silver stake deep into his chest, effectively piercing his heart.

As Adrian shoved the stake in deeper, a white light began to grow from the wound in Dimitri's chest. It continued to grow until it was almost blinding. It was like the sun had actually entered the room. Adrian yanked the stake out and the light abruptly disappeared. Then there was the crying. It was a sound that I thought would never come from Dimitri in a million years, yet here I am standing behind him after dropping his arms, listening to him sob his eyes out. He was having a full on panic attack. Clutching at his throat with one hand and pulling his hair with the other. I dropped to my knees and wrapped my arms around him, holding him tightly as he choked out the words that would haunt me forever.

"What have I done?"

Hey guys, sorry for the short chapter, this just seemed like a good place to stop. Cliffhanger and all that. I will try to update soon as I have many ideas for the next chapter.
