Cee, Jay, Ceejay, Isabella, and Philomella just entered the penthouse. Vincent was playing a sad song on the piano, which was right in front of the entrance hallway.
"You look sad," Philomella remarked.
"You think?" Vincent replied, turning around. His eyes have been very red from weeping.
"Oh, dear Lolph," Cee exclaimed, "You might have a bit of rheum there, Mr. President." He pointed to the yellow thing just below Vince's right eye.
"Just call me Vincent," he replied, "and yeah, we've met before, in the party."
"Right," Jay replied. She looked around the room and said, "This is a nice place you got here, Vincent. Jamie would have loved it."
"Well, she did," Vincent replied, "before she left me." He heaved a little sigh.
Ceejay went over to him and said, "Aww, it's not the end of the world. You two can still fix this."
"But how?" Vincent replied.
"Word is, you two haven't visited the Philippines, right?" Isabella asked him.
Vincent nodded.
"Well, Cee, Jay, and Ceejay know a fabulous resort in one of its beautiful islands," Philomella replied, "and I booked us all a lovely one week vacation there!"
"Ooh," Vincent said. He sat up, and his eyes lit up. "Tell me more," he added.
Isabella flew above the piano, made herself comfortable above the tilted cover, and said, "The resort is called El Nido Resorts. It's technically one resort with many different stops, and it's located in an isolated mini archipelago at its western borders. The wildlife is beautiful as ****, and I'm darn serious."
"Cee and Jay work there as tour guides," Ceejay added, "Amirite?"
"Certainly!" Jay replied, fixing her hair, "It's one of the best jobs in the world."
"And the tourists were absolutely nice," Cee added, "Also, sis here has been promoted to head tour guide because of the very good reviews she receives." He wrapped his are around Jay and tapped her on the shoulder.
"And you?" Vincent asked Cee.
"Had to turn it down," Cee replied, "Head tour guides are more prioritized towards esteemed guests. I prefer to work not only with them, but with everyone." He then lowered his voice and whispered, "Seriously, the King and Queen of England has my number, and I am friends with some of the leaders of Southeast Asian countries, being a Southeast Asian myself. Other contacts include different foreigners and Filipinos just wanting to get back to the resort."
"Ooh, now I'm interested!" Vincent exclaimed, "When will it happen?"
"Overmorrow!" his friends all replied.
"Then it's settled!" Vincent replied, "I'll see you in two days, taking the earliest flights!"
"I like your attitude," Philomella replied, "Deal!"
That was the end of their conversation. After the five left, Vincent immediately went to his wardrobe and packed his stuff for a week. The next day, he sent a memo to everyone that he was going out of the country for a vacation somewhere in the Philippines. Most were well-wishers, fortunately, and they gave him a few reminders over ThreadPost or FlyOver or Acquaintancester or just any social media platform. Others were a few haters, though, disbelieving that Vincent did something for the country during his term (he did a lot) and was going out of the country for a measly vacation.
Nevertheless, he was going to a country he had never seen before.
