Vincent and Jamie and Catarina: When Freshiedency Reaches Its End

Night 3: The First Text Back and Forth

Vincent was flustered when he got home from work. Jamie was still snug as a bug in a rug back in the hospital.

Vincent and Catarina entered the pad, ate a bit of leftover dinner, and then parted ways for the night. Just like the last two nights, Catarina slept on the couch, while Vincent retreated to his room.

After a quick shower, and a change into pyjamas, Vincent hopped on the bed and turned on his phone. His lock screen showed a full body picture of Jamie in a nearly sexual position --- would have been fully sexual had it not been for her winking and smiling open mouthed at the camera and her left hand over her forehead doing the peace sign.

He slid up to unlock his phone, proceeded to the messages section, and looked for a certain panel with a heart emoji on it. It was the very first thing he had seen and he tapped on it.

His texts for the last two nights, which were very long since he told about his day to Jamie, were still left unanswered. Yet he was never faltered, and so he texted again.

Hi Jamie! Hope you're feeling alright. Hope you did get my last two texts last night.

He waited for a minute or two for any reply ; there was none. He then waited another two minutes for any signs of replies, but there was still no reply. He had begun to feel sleepy and yawned.

His eyes began to feel heavy after another minute of waiting, so he texted:

Alright, have your rest! I'll go to sleep! Good night! xoxo

After he had sent this message, he locked his phone, gave a sigh, and set it aside.

As Vincent pulled the blanket over his head, his phone suddenly rang. He sat up, immediately got his phone, and checked the lock screen. On it were the background, the date and time (in large letters and numbers), and finally, the following words:

New message from: JAMIE <3

"Hey Vincent! How ya doing?!"

Of course, Vincent got really excited, so he unlocked his phone, headed to their Messages thread, and replied:

Very much the finest. How about you?

A few seconds later, Jamie also replied, and the messages snowballed from there:

I'm actually recovering very quickly, and the doctor said that in three days time, I may be discharged. *Laughs Lucky me, the doctor said that whatever I contracted was a life-threatening yet curable disease. Had I not been picked up immediately, I would have died after nine days!

Whoa, no sh*t?

No sh*t! Speaking of which, I can already eat solid food, but in gradual amounts.

She's one of the helpers now. Mostly unrecognized now.

Yeah! How are they?

They'll be visiting soon for vacation. Philie texted me earlier before sending me a picture of her laying a few eggs.

Ugh, anyway. Isabella, Philomella, and their sister are actually sisters of Norman.

Norman texted me and said it was Isabella and him first, then the Phi twins. By the way, he also misses you.

Tell him I also miss him as well.

Finally, Catarina.

Right, for some reason I feel the chills whenever she's around.

So is the doctor, weird.

Suddenly, Vincent heard a knock on the door.

Vincent locked his phone immediately, and said, "Come in!"

It was Catarina, with a very disturbed look on her face.

"Dammit!" Vincent replied, "Why?"

"I'm just scared of the dark," the drideress replied. The pupils of her eyes dilated, giving her the look of a helpless female.

Vincent clasped a hand over his face, and immediately gave her the go signal. When she lay beside him, his body began to shiver.

Goosebumps formed on Vincent's body when Catarina wrapped all her limbs around his body. Please, Jamie, he thought as he shut his eyes, hope you get well ASAP.
