I played with the necklace mother gave me when she passed. It was a small salmon colored coned shaped shell, her favorite color.
Karma nudged my leg indicating that dad wanted me. I trotted down the ship and into my fathers office were I found him looking at a map.
"Hello daddy" I said sitting cris-crossed on the big leather chair. Karma barked and took a seat to the one near me.
"Morning darling. I was just wondering how you were doing?" He smiled while getting up and picking me up and placing me in front of another map.
"Excited to go to Neverland?" He questioned pointing to the island with his hook.
"I wanna see the mermaids daddy" I chirped pointing at a river called the mermaid lagoon. Daddy never liked talking about mermaids for no odd reason.
"Now Melina how many times have I told you-"
"To stop asking questions about the mermaids" I mumbled looking up at him."but please, pretty please can I look at one mermaid" I pleaded grabbing into his leg since I wasn't tall enough.
"Melina its too dangerous and we're only here for one reason only got it?" He said crouching down and looking at me. I gave him a single nod and waved at karma to follow me.
"I'll be in my room" I replied crossing my arms and walking out like I was in command. All he did was chuckle and went back to work.
Dad always told me about Neverland and how people can fly and have magic. I always wanted to have magic, maybe with magic I can poof a mermaid to be seen or something like that.
I laid down in the bed and allowed Karma to sit on the edge of it. I scratched her and told her goodnight before going to sleep. *** "Melina, up and at it were here sweetheart!" I heard a voice say. I groaned and yelled out a no, only for it to be muffled by the pillow.
"Come on Melina you're a pirate for crying out loud" dad said while pulling the sheets off me and shaking me vigorously.
"I want to be a mermaid" I blurted out. I could tell by the way his eyes changed in mood that must've made him pissed.
"Nonsense now hurry up someones waiting. I need to brush your hair Mel" I took his hand and was changed as well as combed.
"Let's go boy" I shouted as I grabbed dads map and followed him out with Karma by my side.
The jolly rancher, as I call it was placed in front of an island I've never seen and the walk way was placed down. I spend no time to waste and ran down with no warning with Karma barking.
"Woah" I exclaimed jumping up and down. Dad forced a smile and walked down with his crew. I handed him the map and stared in awe at the island.
"Now Melina stay with me at all times, someone here is expecting you, so act nice, but also act like my daughter and never ever go somewhere without telling me and take Karma with you at all times" Dad said confidently while grabbing my hand and walking us to the forest.
