The leather was stroked by my finger. My finger tracing over the carved letters until it stopped right before I flipped open the book. I took the book with both of my hands bringing it close to me.
"Where's Melina, Belle?" A loud voice roared from the library to the room. The voice sounded desperate almost like it was in a rush. I still gave all my attention to the book that was in my grasp.
I licked my chapped lips before doing what the tiny voice was saying to me. Open it. I flipped the cover open to find the first page blank. The back, Melina. The pages flipped to one side as I searched for the back. Finally a page near the end caught my eyes.
There. Right on the piece of paper was a phrase written down. One that was very common through out my life. Say it. I opened my mouth only for nothing to come out. Come on, say it louder. The voice scolded.
"Melina, darling where are you?"
"Melina where did you go. Your fathers worried!" Another voice shouted
"Over there Karma"
I couldn't move the thing was taking over my body fast. I wanted to scream out saying I was here, only problem was that I couldn't. It told me to say the two words instead.
Various footsteps were nearing by me and an animal bark was heard. Soon I wasn't the only one in the room. I smiled not knowing what I was doing.
"Melina place that down. You could get hurt" Rumple ordered taking small steps to me.
I turned around to face all of them with the book wide open in my arms. Time stopped and now it was only us and the silence that let itself in.
"I believe" that was it. The thing that kept me from leaving my family's presence. Soon the book turned to dust and my father began to vanish. My best friend was also being taken away from me in plain sight.
The room closed in and started spinning leaving me trapped in my mistake. My hair was flying everywhere and a shadow was coming towards me. It's long twig like arms reached out to me as if it wanted something. Your hand.
I looked into its soulless eyes and offered my hand while stepping closer to it. A freakish smile crawled up on his face and it yanked me out of the spinning room and into a stary night.
I was flying. Something I wish I would've mastered by myself, not holding onto somethings hand. The stars and moon shown bright, just enough to let me get a clear view of an island. One I never thought I'd return too.
That was when reality decided to hit me knowing I might never see my family again or my friends. I struggled within the shadows grasped. Even with all the pulling and kicking he wouldn't bulge not just one bit.
"Let me go" I shouted miserably failing at loosening its grip on me. It hissed when I punched it twice making me repeat my actions to try and escape. Wait shadows don't like lights.
I made a small fireball with my free hand and aimed it at him. He let out a weird deep noise that immediately made him release me. The only problem with that was that I was plugging right into the ocean.
My body was soon swallowed up by the cold water pushing me down. I swam back up in order to try to teleport, something I should've done in the first place. I made it and spat out some of salt water that had entered my mouth.
I couldn't concentrate forcing me to swim back to the closest shore there was. My legs felt numb and I thought small icicles would cover my face, the fact that the water was freezing.
I kept kicking till my feet touched the wet sand making me use up all of the strength I had left to walk towards shore. My hands dug into the sand as I choked up some more water and tried to catch my breath.
The rustling of bushes made me uneasy as if someone was watching me. I panicked since I couldn't feel half of my body, I might not be able to explore and find a safe place to take a break at.
I stood back up and limped towards the unknown forest I remember a few years back. Now I'm wishing I could have a better memory to find my way to one of the hidden tree house Pan had to spare.
Speaking of Pan. He might know I'm on the island and even know my exact location. Even if I try to use my magic on this island to survive he'd know. After all he's the one who practically gave me these powers.
I pushed my self to continue walking more until I found the right spot in which I'd spend the night at. It was a horrifying place to be at night. The fact that different kind of animals and monsters were lurking around in waiting for prey to feast on was something I had to keep in mind.
I froze once I saw a familiar tree trunk. I had accidentally blasted a fireball towards it causing it to burn down, thankfully only the trunk survived. I'm now thanking my old stupid self for doing that because west of the trunk was one of those old tree houses Pan had build for the lost boys to stay at when they would go out hunting.
Come on so close. This time it was me motivating myself to go faster in order to stay away from the danger that this island contained. I tried hard to remember where exactly he placed it. After constantly looking up I saw a medium sized wooden box hiding in a tree.
As I got closer it got bigger and soon I reassured myself that I would be at rest in a couple minutes. The ladder wasn't there so maybe he doesn't use it any more. Well magic isn't always going to help I thought knowing it would give him a sign.
I jumped on the lowest branch I could find and made my way up the tree. The entrance had scratches and a big dent in it but I ignored it since now this was my only home I had for now.
Leaves and dead branches were scattered all over the place. A broken lamp was left in the corner with shattered glass mixing in with the leaves and branches. At least the bed was still pretty decent.
I covered the door way with an old cloth I had found to make sure I wouldn't be spotted easily. I made my way to the bed and instantly found myself relaxed. Even though the itchy fur blanket wasn't ideal and probably had bugs crawling in it, it was enough to comfort me in this situation.
««~♛~»» Hi! My goal is to probably finish this book before next year so I will be posting more. The book starts of confusing, but I'm hoping it will become better. Please don't be shy and leave any feedback.
