As your senior year was coming to a close, it was time for celebration. Prom was coming up, and you were excited beyond words. After months of searching, you finally found the perfect dress and were ready. You planned on going with a group of friends, not really worried about not having one day, until one day, when you got a huge surprise. You were walking out of class one day, to your car. The day was over and you were ready to head home after a long day.

"Hey, (Y/N), can I talk to you?" Your friend Ethan came running up to you.

"Sure, what's up?" You asked. He was asking you about this group project you were doing in your English class, but you were were distracted and not listening as you got closer to your car, noticing a huge group of people crowding around it. "What the hell is going on?" You said aloud.

"Before you get any closer to your car, you know how much my brother likes you. It took him forever to muster up the courage to do this. So, I ask that if you reject him, please do so lightly." Ethan said.

"Oh my god, is this what I think it is?" You asked. You got closer to your car, everyone had their phones out recording, and Grayson was leaning up against the trunk of your car, a sign in one hand and a bouquet of roses in the other.

"(Y/N), I think this is how promposals go.
Check yes or no." His sign read, hearts and smiley faces drawn on it.

"So, what do you say?" Grayson asked, handing you a marker.

"Grayson," You began, "I'd love to go to prom with you." You said as you put a huge check mark in the "yes" box. Grayson looked at you with a huge smile and pulled you in for a hug. "My dress is green, by the way." You whispered to him.

"My favorite color." He said with a smirk. You took the roses from his and got into your car as everyone dispersed from around your car, and you took off, heading home. Your entire drive home, your phone was blowing up with text messages.

"You're going to prom with Grayson Dolan?"
"I can't believe Grayson actually asked you, he was so nervous."
"YES IM SO HAPPY YOU'RE GOING WITH GRAY."

When you got home, you put your roses into a vase with some water and you marveled at how beautiful and full they were.

"Ooooh, roses? Did someone get asked to prom today?" Your dad asked as he walked into the kitchen, causing you to laugh.

"Yeah, I did." You smiled, thinking about Grayson.

"Was it that Grayson kid? I'd heard something about him wanting to ask you." He said.

"How did you know?" You asked.

"A group of kids came into the diner the other day and I overheard them talking about it." He said.

"Oh, well, yeah. It was Grayson." You smiled.

"Good. He's a good kid." He said. You nodded in agreement and took your roses up to your room. You set them on your desk and sat down on your computer, looking up various hairstyles for prom.

A few weeks had gone by, and it was finally prom night. You and your mom were sitting upstairs in your room as she was doing your makeup and your hair.

"What time is Grayson coming to get you?" She asked.

"At four." You said.

"Why so early?" She asked.

"He says he has dinner plans for us somewhere, and he wants to get back to this side of town before prom starts at eight." You explained.

"Ahh, I see. Well, we better get finished. It's already 3:15." She said. Your mom finished up your makeup, applied an extra layer of hairspray on your hair and pulled your dress out of your closet.

"This dress is so pretty. I'm so glad we found it early and didn't have to scramble at the last minute." She said.

"Yeah, me too. Finding the dress so early was a huge weight off of my shoulders." You said. You got into the dress and slipped on your shoes.

"I'm gonna go down stairs and get the camera ready." Your mom said. You nodded and finished getting ready on your own. You put on your jewelry, put some finishing touches on your makeup and sprayed on some perfume. Just as you finished, you heard the doorbell ring.

"(Y/N)! Grayson is here!" You heard your mom call out. You slowly walked down the stairs, as to not fall in your heels. As you you came into view of everyone downstairs, they all looked at you, stunned.

"Wow. You look amazing." Grayson said as you walked up to him.

"You don't look so bad yourself." You said as you adjusted his tie.

"It took me so long to tie this." He laughed.

"You were close." You smiled.

"Alright you two, I want to get pictures before you leave." Your mom said. She posed the two of you in various spots in your house, and out in the front yard, taking what seemed like a million pictures before letting you leave.

"Okay, I think that's enough. Have fun you two." Your dad said, taking the camera from your mom. You and Grayson both laughed and he took you to his car. You headed off to dinner and afterwards, made your way to the venue for prom. You school rented a nice reception hall, and everything was decorated beautifully. Once you got there, you took pictures with friends, and with each other at the photo area one of the photography teachers had set up. Throughout the night, you had an absolutely amazing time. Being with Grayson made you absolutely happy, and you were still over the moon with the fact that he even asked you to prom.

"Y'know, I'm having such a good time, here, and with you." Grayson said to you while you were dancing to a slow song.

"I am too." You said with a smile.

"(Y/N), we've been friends for a long time, and you know I love you," He said, with a sigh. "It's just, spending time with you, and hanging out with you more, these feelings are just continuing to grow. And you probably think I'm crazy, but-" You cut him off by pressing your lips against his. "What was that for?" He asked with a smile.

"You talk too much." You said, kissing him again. "Grayson, look, I like you too, and I have for a long time. I couldn't believe that you chose me, of all people, to ask to prom, and even being here with you right now, I still don't believe it. Every part of this is like a fairy tale."

"I hope it's your favorite fairy tale." Grayson said with a smile.

"It's making it's way to the top."
