"Are you sure you can't make it?" You asked Ethan.

"(Y/N), babe, I'm so sorry. Grayson and I have a ton of meetings and videos to film for our channel. I just can't swing it this week." You had been on the phone with him for the last hour, asking him if he was gonna make it home in time for this week's football game, which was Friday night. You were a member of your high school's marching band and you really wanted Ethan to come watch the show.

"But you haven't been to a game all season. And the show is really good this year." You whined.

"I promise, I will make it to a game before the season ends." He said.

"Okay, fine. I'm holding you to it." You said. You talked with Ethan for a little while longer before you started to get tired. You said your good night's, got ready for bed and slowly drifted off to sleep.

It was finally Friday afternoon, you had just finished rehearsal and were getting ready for the game. The band hall was a mess as everyone was getting their uniforms ready, band moms making sure everyone had all the pieces they needed. You were standing at your locker, fixing your stand tunes in your flip folder when you heard your phone buzz. You picked it up and saw you had a text from Ethan.

"Good luck tonight babe, I love you." The text read.

"I'd have better luck if you were here to watch me. But thank you, I love you too." You replied. After you got all your things together, you sat with a group of friends as you waited to load the buses. Once you were all on the bus, and at the stadium, you headed up into the stands with your section and put your instrument together. You warmed up for a bit, on your own and again once your director got on the podium, and then the game started. The football team at your school wasn't the best, but they still played a good game. You played stand tune after stand tune, more than you had all season, and before you knew it, it was half time. You got up to put on your jacket and you heard someone calling your name. You looked around forever, trying to find who it was, and you looked up at the top section of the stadium to find Ethan waving with a huge smile on his face. You waved and smiled back. You finished getting dressed and made your way down to the rest of the band.

After half time was over, you put your jacket back in your garment bag, your hat back in the box, and went up to see if you could find Ethan. As soon as you left the stairs, you immediately found him and ran over to him. He spotted you and held his arms out to catch you.

"There's my girl." He said as you got closer.

"Ethan!" You called as you fell into his arms. You smiled up at him and he kissed you. "I thought you said you were busy and couldn't come." You said when you pulled away.

"I lied. I bought this plane ticket home a week ago. I figured this was a good week. It's halfway through the season, and you're performing the whole show, so it seemed like a good time." He explained.

"Any time would've been a good time." You laughed. You stood there and talked with him for a little bit, before you had to get back to the stands.

"Have I ever told you how cute you look in your uniform?" He asked.

"I'm hot and sweaty, there's no way I look good right now. And these bibbers* make me look fat." You said as you looked down at your attire.

"No they don't. You look good." He said as he pulled you close. "Plus, they make your ass look great." He whispered. You giggled and kissed him on the cheek.

"I hate to break up the love birds, but honey, you have to get back into the stands." You heard a voice say. You turned around and saw one of the band moms coming over to you and Ethan.

"Yes ma'am." You said. You kissed Ethan one last time before you walked off.

"I'll come pick you from school afterwards and we'll go out to eat." He said.

"Sounds good. See you later." You smiled. You hugged him and went back into the stands.

After the game, you headed back to school, unloaded everything, put your uniform up, dismissed, and headed out to the parking lot where Ethan was waiting. You went to eat, and afterwards he took you home.

"I don't want to leave you yet." He said as he took your hands in his.

"Then don't. My parents are out of town this weekend, so I have the house to myself. Come upstairs with me." You said.

"You don't have to tell me twice." He smiled. You went upstairs, showered, and got ready for bed. When you went into your room, you saw that Ethan had already made himself comfortable in your bed. You climbed in next to him and felt his arms wrap around your waist.

"I'm so glad you came tonight. It was a nice surprise, seeing you." You said as you ran your fingers through his hair.

"I'm glad I came too. I hadn't been to a high school football game in such a long time, it felt good to get back into the atmosphere. And seeing you is always nice for me too." He said, kissing you on the forehead. You laid in bed with Ethan for a bit, having small talk before you started to fall asleep.
