*Ethan's POV*

I was sitting at the computer, editing a video for the upcoming week when my phone buzzed on the desk next to me. I picked it up and saw that I had a text from (Y/N).

"Hey, are you free this weekend?" She asked.

"Um, as far as I know, yeah. Why, what's up?" I text back.

"Well, I have the house to myself this weekend, and I was gonna have some people over, and I wanted to know if you and Grayson would like to come, y'know. just to hang out." She said.

"Sure, sounds fun. We'll be there. :)" I replied.

"Okay, cool. See you Saturday, around 8ish." She said.

"See you Saturday." I text. I put my phone back on the desk just as Grayson was walking in.

"Hey, we're not doing anything this weekend, right?" I asked as he sat on my bed.

"Nope. We're free. Why?" He asked.

"(Y/N) invited us over to come hang out." I said.

"Ahh, that explains the look on your face. Were you just talking to her?" He asked.

"Yeah, how'd do know?" I asked, confused.

"Your cheeks are as red as as stop sign. You always blush like crazy when you talk to her or about her. They're getting redder by the minute because we're talking about her right now. You're crushing hard, dude." He said.

"Is it really that obvious?" I asked. Grayson nodded.

"Of course it's obvious. You've never crushed on a girl this hard. You need to tell her, bro." He said.

"No way. What if she doesn't like me back. We've been friends for way too long for me to just throw it all away over a stupid crush." I said, letting out a loud sigh.

"Are you kidding? I've seen the way you two are around each other. I sometimes feel like a third wheel whenever the three of us are together. There's no way she doesn't have feelings for you too." Grayson said. "You'll never know unless you tell her." He added.

"Yeah, I guess you're right." I said.

"I am right." He said as he walked out of my room.

* * *

It was finally Saturday night, and I had been looking forward to tonight all week. I was excited to finally see (Y/N), as it had been a good while since we'd seen each other. Grayson and I finished getting ready and we headed off to (Y/N)'s place. There were already a few people there when we showed up. We walked up to the door and went in.

"Ethan! Grayson! You're here!" She called as soon as she saw us. She came up to us, saying hello, and hugging us both. "Well, make yourselves comfortable. Food and drinks are in the kitchen, everyone else is scattered around the house." She said. Grayson and I walked off to the kitchen to get a drink.

"We're not leaving tonight until you tell how you." Grayson said as he walked off. I stood there in the kitchen by myself for a minute, just collecting my thoughts, before I went and joined everyone in the living room. They were all sitting around, playing drinking games and having good conversation, and I just felt so out of place. I wanted to be with (Y/N). Alone. Just the two of us. I just wanted to hang out with her, and talk to only her. Deep, meaningful conversations. Not just the light chatter of the conversations going on around me. I sat there on the sofa, forcing myself to pay attention to the conversation, before I was distracted by (Y/N) walking over to me, making herself comfortable on my lap.

"Hey." She said smiling down at me.

"Hey yourself." I said as I wrapped my arm around her waist.

"I feel like we've hardly spoken to each other since you've gotten here. I've missed you. What have you been up to?" She asked.

"Oh, you know, filming videos, editing videos. The usual." I said, causing her to laugh.

"Sounds riveting." She said. We sat there talking for a long time, just the two of us. It felt like we were the only one's in the entire house. After a while, I looked over at Grayson, who was sitting on the sofa across from us, and he was giving me a look that said "if you don't hurry up and tell her, then I will."

"Hey, (Y/N)?" I asked, turning my attention back to her.

"What's up?" She asked.

"I know this is probably the worst time to ask this, since you're hosting a party, but can we go somewhere private? I need to talk to you about something." I said awkwardly.

"Uh, sure. Let's go upstairs." She said. She took my hand in hers and led me up to her room.

"You've redecorated since I've last been here." I said, trying to ease the tension I felt.

"Yeah, I changed up some of the furniture and added a few new things to my wall. But, I'm kinda over this color. I'm thinking about repainting, but I may need some help." She said with a smirk.

"Well, you have my number." I laughed.

"So, what's up?" She asked as we sat on her bed.

"What?" I asked, trying to stall.

"You said you wanted to talk to me about something."

"Oh, right. Well, I guess there's no way to put this other than straight forward," I began, taking a deep breath before I continued, "(Y/N), we've been friends for a long time, and I never thought that I would meet anyone as special as you. You make me happier beyond words, and I cherish our friendship more than anything." I said.

"More than your relationship with Grayson?" She asked, sarcastically.

"Just the tiniest bit, but don't tell him that." I laughed.

"I think I know where this is going. And, before you finish, let me just say that, you mean more to me than I ever thought you would. More recently, I've realized that our friendship is one of the most important relationships in my life. I really like you, Ethan, and I wanna take this relationship to the next level, but only if you do too." She said.

I sat there as a million thoughts ran around in my head, and, acting completely on impulse, I leaned in and kissed her. As we kissed, it felt like a million fireworks were going off behind us, like they do in movies. It felt like there was a huge swarm of butterflies fluttering in my stomach. I couldn't believe this was actually happening. She pulled away and leaned her forehead against mine.

"So, I'll take that as a yes." She smiled.

"A huge yes." I said, kissing her again. I pulled her closer and felt her fingers tangle in my hair as we sat there kissing for what felt like ever.

"Okay, as much as I'd love to stay up here and make out, I do have a party to host." She said.

"Oh yeah, that's a thing." I said.

"C'mon." She said holding her hand out to me. We walked hand in hand back downstairs and she walked off to the kitchen and I walked over to the sofa and sat next to Grayson.

"So? What happened up there? You were up the forever." Grayson said.

"I told her."

"And? What did she say?" He asked.

"She likes me too." I said as I felt a wide smile spread across my face.

"I told you she would. So are you two a thing now?" He asked. I nodded.

"That we are." I said. Just then, (Y/N) came over and sat with us. The rest of the night was absolutely amazing, as I started to feel at ease, knowing that (Y/N) and I were finally together.
