"Baby, won't you please come to dinner?" You said to Ethan. You and him had been together for a few months and you wanted him to meet your parents.
"I don't know, (Y/N). What if they don't like me? I don't think I could l deal with that if they didn't." He said, running his fingers through your hair.
"Well you'll never know until you meet them." You said.
"Yeah, I guess you're right. Alright, fine, I'll come to dinner." He said.
"Yay, thank you. I promise they'll love you." You said.
"I sure hope so."

It was Friday night and you and Ethan were getting ready to meet your parents for dinner. They made the four of you a reservation at a really nice restaurant, and you were really looking forward to the evening. You knew that Ethan would make a great first impression.
"Hey, you ready to-, oh wow, that dress looks amazing on you." Ethan said as he came into the bedroom.
"Oh, stop. You're making me blush." You giggled as he walked over to you. He hugged to tight and placed a small kiss on your lips.
"You ready to go?" He asked. You nodded and headed out to the car. You drove to the restaurant, and when you got there, Ethan began to get really nervous.
"Baby, calm down. Everything will be fine." You said, rubbing his back as you stood in the waiting area, waiting for your parents to arrive. Once they arrived, you introduced everyone to each other and then were taken to a table.
"It's so nice to finally meet you, Ethan. (Y/N) has told us so much about you." Your mom said.
"It's nice to meet you too. I gotta be honest, I was really nervous about tonight, but now that's it's started, I feel much more relaxed." Ethan said.
"No need to be nervous. We've heard so many positive things about you, you're pretty much already part of the family." Your dad said to him.
"Well, that's nice to hear." Ethan said. Throughout the evening, there was non-stop conversation between Ethan and your parents. It made you beyond happy to see your parents getting along with Ethan so well. You were also nervous about the night, based on past boyfriends that your parents didn't like, but Ethan was different. He was very friendly and very cordial to your parents, as he was with everyone he met.
The four of you ended up spending a very long time at the restaurant, ordering drinks and desserts after your meals. All in all, it was a very nice night.
"Wow, I didn't realize how late it was already." You dad said as he glanced down at his watch.
"Time flies when you're having fun." You laughed.
"Well, I guess we better get going. Don't wanna keep you two from anything." Your mom said.
"We didn't have any other plans. This night was dedicated to you two." Ethan smiled. After you paid your checks, you walked your parents to their car, said your goodbyes, and you and Ethan walked back to your car to head home.
"See, that wasn't so bad, was it?" You asked as you took off.
"No, not at all. That was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be." Ethan said. Once you got home, you both showered and got ready for bed. You were lying in bed, and Ethan was flipping through the tv guide, when you felt your phone buzz next to you.
"Oh look, I just got a text from my mom. She said she and dad had a wonderful time tonight, and that they really like you. They think you and I are a great fit for each other." You said.
"Well, I'm glad to hear it. But, even if they didn't like me, they were gonna have to try really hard to get rid of me." He laughed, kissing the top of your head.
"I wouldn't have let you go anywhere." You said. You put your phone back on the charger and rolled over to face him. You leaned up to kiss him, then laid your head on his chest as you both began to fall asleep to the movie you were watching.
