I came to the playground again,
but you weren't there.
you weren't watching the children.
I was surprised
and panicked.
but then I spotted you among the children
swinging.
your head was tilted back,
hair flowing behind you,
and your arms were spread out like wings.
you told me that you always wanted to fly,
and that you always thought swinging was the closest to it that you could get.
I sat down on the seat next to you
before a small angry child could steal it from me.
you didn't notice,
you were too ensnared in the rhythmic motions.
you were always so oblivious to everything.
it was like you were the only one there,
isolated.
"let's go somewhere," I blurted out.
you jumped,
slightly shocked by my voice.
you shook your head,
but I paid no heed as i snatched your arm,
guiding you to my car.
you never struggled.
so I took that as an 'okay',
to go somewhere.
to escape the routine.
to go on an adventure.
