Charlie's POV

It has been two days since the fight against Owen and I have finally told the king the truth about what happened. It might have taken me a while but I knew that he deserved to know the truth.

I am in the dressing rooms in the kingdom waiting for the queen to come back with a dress for me to wear too tonight's ball, which I am not afraid to admit that I am scared shitless about. Plus I have to wear I stupid dress that is probably going to make me look like a hippo.

This is also the first time I have been alone with the Queen apparently it's tradition for the Queen to pick the dress for the future Queen to wear to her first ball. I just hope that she isn't as mean as my mother, because I know that if my mum had to pick she would pick the ugliest dress that was available.

That's the reason I don't pick dresses to wear, I would rather where man’s clothes to this ball but I know that I don’t have a choice because of tradition but that doesn’t make it any better. I have to admit that wearing a dress is one of my biggest fears.

“Charlie I think that I have finally found the dress that is perfect for you” the Queen said while passing me the dress through. I had a quick look at it before i put it on but I don’t know much about dresses, the only think I know is that it is black and long.

I put it on as fast as I could without reaping it, I closed my eyes while turning around to the mirror but no matter how much I want to look I can’t bring myself to so instead I turned towards the door to show the Queen so she can be the judge of it.

Walking out to meet the Queen I am waiting for her to tell me the truth about how ugly I look and that girls like me shouldn’t wear dresses; that’s why god made pants and shirts for women.

“Wow Alex isn’t going to be able to keep his eyes off you; you should wear dresses more often you have a wonderful figure.” I couldn’t help but look at her in disbelief.

Once my dress was properly fitted I had to go and get my makeup and everything like that done. I’m not one to worry about makeup and things like that so this is going to be a new experience for me. I just hope that Alex likes it because I wouldn’t have to go through all this stuff if it wasn’t for him.

It was long hours before I was finally fully dressed and ready for the ball that is now on. I haven’t been able to see Alex all day. My nerves are in a total mess and Alex is the only one that knows how to get me to think straight.

I’m standing out the front of the big doors that led to the ball, I can hear the whispers of the people, and it’s not helping with my nerves one bit. The worse thing is I can’t meet Alex until I am at the bottom of the stairs and I am afraid that I am going to do something to embarrass myself.

The doors swung opening in a way to tell me that they are ready to introduce me to my future Kingdom. I don’t know if I am going to make a good Queen or Princess but all I know is that i am going to try my best.

So taking the first steps to my new life I tried my best to leave everything else in the past but I know that it isn’t going to be that easy. The other reason that i am coming to this thing is because a couple of the girls that claimed to be Alex mate is here.

Yes that’s right Zane game me the list of Alex’s fan girls and it is time for some of them to meet his true mate. That was my last thought while I walked down the stairs.

Finally having the nerve to look up I noticed that everyone one was looking at me like they expected me to start talking, then I realized that I was suppose to write a stupid speech. Just great I am so screwed.

Better get this over and done with after all ether way I am going to embarrass myself.

“Hello everyone my name is Charlie it is a pleasure to finally meet everyone, I know that I’m not your ideal Princess but I promise to try my best. I know that use are probably expecting some long speech but that isn’t how I role. So if anyone wants to ask some questions you’re more than welcome to now or sometime during the ball.”

I waited for what felt like ages for someone to ask a question if they wanted to but when I thought that I finally got away without anyone asking any someone just had to open there mouths.

“What makes you think that you are fit to be Queen as far as I or anyone knows is that your some boyfriend stealer and your nothing but a lying bitch” hell no I know that voice and I should have realized that she would be here.

“Ah if it isn’t the famous Danielle how I have missed your annoying voice. Plus how do I know that I am fit to be Queen one day. Will let’s just say no one could do as bad as you, from what I know your nothing but a ladder climbing snake that just loves to skin her teeth into things that don’t belong to her. Ok listen up everyone I want you to put your hand up if Danielle has messed up your life in some way.”

I wasn’t shocked when almost half the room put their hands up both man and women I couldn’t help but take in their pain as my own just so that they can remember how it was like to fully breathe.

“Ok everyone the next thing I want you to do is turn to Danielle and tell her what you really think of her, don’t hold back because you won’t get another chance to do so.” With that I walked away with my head healed high, I don’t care if I’m not what people wanted as a Princess but I am not going to change for anyone.

I walked out into the cold air thinking about how this ball was just one huge mistake Danielle is right I am not cut out to be Queen, I haven’t got the knowledge of the world to share with everyone but that doesn’t me that bitch can say things like that to someone and get away with it, not while I am here anyway.

I sat down on the ground not caring if I got my dress dirty or if people would judge me even more, I know that Alex is probably in side cleaning up the mess that I have once again made.

“Hey dear I guess today is good for us to talk about why you think you’re not fit to be a Queen” Zane said while looking down at me with a small smile on his face that reminded me so much of Alex’s.

“Isn’t what happened inside proof enough?” I asked with what I hoped was a strong voice.

Zane passed me a book that looked like it was over a hundred years old, I didn’t want to touch it because it looks like it is about to turn into dust in my hands.

“I want you to read this and see if it will change your mind” he said before he got up with a grin on his face mumble something about how he is going to ask his wife for a dance.

I carefully opened the book to the first page:

‘It all began when I meet some mysterious man that I didn’t know the name of but what I didn’t realize was that one day I would call him my husband.’
