After class Sam took me to the cafeteria where his friends where waiting for us. "Guys, this is Kim," Sam introduced us, "Kim this is Peter, Danny, Luke, and Ava."
I knew Ava, she was pretty cool, but the rest of the guys looked like they were really fun.
"Hello there!" Peter said with a wide smilie on his face. "Hi." I respond back trying to hide my stupid smilie on my face. "Look at her! She's actually smiling at you !" Luke exclaimed sounding surprised. "Shut the hell up, will ya?" Peter said sounding annoyed. "Chill man, you know I was kidding."
"Ladies! Ladies! quit your cat fight!" Danny shouted. I couldn't help but to blurt out in laughter at their stupidness.
They reminded me of my friends back at my old high school.
When I wiped the 'happy' tears out my eyes I saw Sam staring down at me, smiling."Done?" he asked with a bit of humor on his tone." Yeah." I felt so dumb laughing at something that wasn't really that funny. We went to grab some lunch and came back to our table."So, Kim, where do you come from," Ava asked " I can see you're not from New York." New York . I can't believe it! I'm so far away from home. "San Antonio, Texas." I respond.
"Do you miss it?" Sam asks quietly.

"To be honest, I do."

"What! Why? What does San An. have that NYC doesn't ?"

"Everything! Besides the moisture over there kills you!"

Everyone lets out a small chuckle. It is very different here. Not just the weather, everything is different from the landscape to the people. I miss it, a lot .
