I pulled away from Sam's arms and walked away from him. "Kim, I'm really, really sorry." He whispered. I looked at him and wished I could see the emotion behind that giant helmet of his. "I know Sam. Let's just get out of here then we can talk about it, ok?" I whispered back at him and he sadly nodded.

There were some footsteps outside but they quickly vanished. "I'm going to take a look outside, wait here." Sam said walking over to the door. I leaned against a wall and waited for Sam's approval to leave this tiny room.

"C'mon Kim, were getting out of here." Sam whispered and I jogged over to the door. "Stay close to me." He said and we ran down the empty hallway.

We approached a large door with a sign that had some strange writing over it. Loud grunting and chaos could be heard from the other side. "We have to get in there." Sam said trying to find a weak spot in the door. I scoffed at what he just said. "Sam we are trying to get away from trouble not get into it." I said raising my voice a bit.

"Just trust me, ok?" he whispered as he held my hand and walked away from the door to a safe distance. Sam raised both of his arms to the door. "Get behind me." He ordered. I hid behind him and shut my eyes tightly.

Nova was about to shoot when someone interrupted his plans. "What do you plan to do?" A chuckling voice from behind us asked. I opened my eyes and turned to see my worst nightmare.

High Evolutionary

Sam quickly stepped in front of me. He walked towards us and wore a wide smirk across his metallic face. He stopped a few feet away from us and crossed his arms. "Don't tell me you're trying to escape." His evil voice ringed in my ears, while he wore that stupid grin on his face.

He popped my last nerve and I wasn't going to take his bullshit anymore. "Yes we were, what are you going to do about it 'Mr. High Evolutionary.'" I yelled as I stepped away from behind Sam and did quotation marks with my hands when I said his name.

His smirk faded and his face turned into a serious one. I turned to Sam and he just stared straight ahead into High E's face, he was pretty pissed at me for that.

High Evolutionary snapped his fingers and two of his blue-skinned guards came rushing to his side as he made his way over to us. Nova grabbed my hand tightly but he was pulled away and slammed against a wall thanks to High E's telekinesis. I started to walk backwards but he eventually got to me and grabbed me by the neck.

He lifted me up from the ground and squeezed my neck tightly, keeping me from breathing.

I knew that in that moment everything was gone. I would never see my parents again or any of my few friends and it was all because I was used as bait for some stupid wannabe Iron Man dude who wanted revenge against Nova.

I shut my eyes tightly not fighting the pain that shot through my body. I wanted everything to end right here, right now.

"Kim." I heard Nova say in a very weak voice. I opened my eyes and lifted my hand trying to reach him so he would know I was listing. "Don't give up." he continued.

A warm tear ran down my cheek, he knew exactly what I was thinking. As much as I wanted to give up I knew I couldn't let Sam down. Everything we've been through wasn't going to go to waste and I wasn't going to let a metallic dumbass win. I started to kick my feet and hit High E's arm so he would let me go.

I looked over at High Evolutionary and saw him grinning at me until a blue blast of energy hit him right in the face. He dropped me and I landed on my feet. I looked over to Sam who had just finished disposing of the other two guards.

He walked over to High Evolutionary and was about to shoot him once more when High E stood up and punched Sam, sending him flying to the end of the hallway. He then walked over to me, grabbed me by the hair, and slammed me against the wall.

I got really dizzy and my vision got really blurry. Just then the door Sam and I tried to get through earlier, burst open and in came in... a dude with a mask, A green guy with red tattoos all over his body, a green lady and ... a walking tree with a cat on its shoulder?!? Wait no, is that a raccoon?

I was definitely hallucinating.

I tried fighting the dizziness but eventually lost the battle. The last thing I remember was the team of weirdos walk in and help Nova against High Evolutionary.

"Nova, if she doesn't wake up soon we have to get going either way..." an unrecognizable and distant voice said. I opened my drowsy eyes and saw a raccoon extremely close to my face. "She's awake!" he yelled. I jumped and shirked at the talking raccoon.

"Kim, all you alright?" Sam asked as he rushed to my side with his helmet off. I looked around the room and saw the five creatures staring down at me. "Am I dreaming ?" I asked. Sam chuckled and shook his head.

He stood up then extended his hand for me to take it. I furrowed my brows as I took his hand and stood up. Sam nodded, understanding my question... who are these people?

He then introduced me to the strangers. "This is Star-lord." Sam said as Star-lord took off his helmet. He looked pretty human to me. "My pleasure." he said, taking my hand and kissing it.

"This is Drax and Gamora." Sam introduced the green creatures next. They looked pretty intimidating so I bearly made eye contact with them.

"And these people right here are the greatest superheroes of all time." Sam finally said pointing at the tree thing and the raccoon.

Superheroes ?

"This is-" Sam started but the raccoon interrupted. "Hold on Nova, let me introduce my self," the raccoon said "I am Rocket, and this little fella here is Groot." Rocket said pointing at the tree-looking thing. Little? Groot was probably twice my size so he obviously wasn't 'little'.

Groot turned to me and said a quiet "I am Groot." he looked friendly so I walked over to him and extended my hand for him to take it. He gave me his finger to shake since he was too big for me to shake his hand. "I am Groot." he said once more.

He had already told me his name.

I furrowed my brow, "Uh... yes you are." I said and looked over at Nova. Sam smiled and walked over next to Groot.

"You see Groot here has a limited vocabulary, so all he says is 'I am Groot'." Sam explained. "How does he express his feelings?" I asked. "It depends on the tone of his voice." I nodded at looked up Groot. He gave me a single nod and walked over to the group who were standing in a corner of the room.

They were all wearing matching outfits. Were they a team of superheroes, like The Avengers? I looked over at Sam and he smiled looking over to Star-lord.

Star-lord smiled and simply said,

"We are the Guardians of the Galaxy."

How did you like the chapter? I was waiting to update because in less than a week Guardians of the Galaxy comes out in theaters!
