Since Sam had returned, I decided it was for the best to return back home. I packed all my belongings and Sam drove me home, I kissed him goodbye and waved as he drove off my drive way.

I entered the house, ignoring my mother, who was doing something in the computer, and my father, who was in what appeared a very important phone call. I walked into my room and dropped my duffel bag on the floor.

It was about ten in the evening and I was extremely tired, so I decided to lay on the floor for just a few moments before I unpacked all of my stuff.

Just as I was closing my eyes something interrupted me from my nap,

All eyes they're on you don't deny you've got to, this is a call that's all you'll ever get from me.

"Hello?" I answered my phone. "Kimbra Selene Jones!" It was my mother, "When do you expect to come home? You are still underage which means you still have to follow our rules."

Wow. Just wow.

"Mom if you weren't too busy with your work then you would've seen me walk in the house and enter my room." I answered back calmly, then hung up on her. I laid my head back and rubbed my forehead, my mother would probably storm into my room any moment now.

I heard heavy footsteps getting closer to my room. I sat up and rested against my bed just as my mom walked into the room. "When did you get here?" She asked placing her hands on her hips. "Like five minutes ago." I answered looking up to her.

"And you didn't think it was important for me to know?" She retorted. I scoffed and stood up. "And since when did you start caring? I never mattered to you! You're too busy with work to care about me!" I yelled back at her, looking her in the eyes.

I've never yelled at my mom before, but I am human and I have a breaking point.

She stayed quiet and crossed her arms. "Apologize." She ordered. "Why? I have nothing to apologize for, I just said the truth." With that I shoved my phone into my back pocket, grabbed my duffel bag and walked past my mom, heading towards the front door.

I walked past my dad, who had a confused look on his face. "Where do you think you're going?" He asked. I placed my hand on the door knob and looked back at him. My mother was standing next to him, her arms still crossed.

You would expect to see them with worried looks as their only child is about to leave the house unexpectedly but no, anger flared through their eyes.

"With someone who cares."

I opened the door and slammed it shut as I stormed out. I angrily walked away from my home, hoping that they wouldn't follow. Thankfully they didn't and I took out my phone.

"Hello?"

"Sam?"

"Kim? Are you ok? Are you hurt?"

"No I'm fine, can you do me a favor?"

"Sure, what is it?"

"Could you pick me up?"

"Wha- Why? Did something happen?"

"Yes, but its a long story."

"Ok, I'll pick you up."

"Thanks, meet me at the park near my house."

"On my way."

I sighed and hung up the phone. I arrived at the park and sat at a bench. A few minutes later Sam picked me up and we were on our way to S.H.I.E.L.D.

"Do you want to talk about it?" Sam asked breaking the silence. "Its stupid." I said shaking my head and leaning on the car window. Small droplets of water stared to fall from the sky above. Sam grabbed my hand from my lap and gave it a tiny squeeze.

I looked at him and he was already looking at me, his green eyes shining in the darkness around us.

"Its my parents," I mumbled "they never seem to notice me."

I told him the whole story and by then we were already at S.H.I.E.L.D. "Its going to be ok." He assured and gave me a sweet kiss before getting off the car. We walked into the building, our hands entwined, and checked in, I as a visitor of course.

"Do you want to go with Ava?" Sam asked as we made our way to the dorms. Honestly I wanted to stay with Sam, I felt safe around him.

I shook my head, "No, I want to be with you." Sam stopped me and gave me a smile then wrapped me into a warm embrace.

We finally made it to his dorm and Sam placed my bag which he had been carrying on the desk chair. "I'll sleep in the couch you can take the bed." Sam said making his way towards the small navy couch in the corner.

I stopped him by grabbing his hand. I led him to the bed and laid down still holding his hand. He laid down next to me and wrapped me in his arms. I cuddled closer to him, burying my face in his chest.

"Kim." He whispered. I looked at him and he gave me a kiss on the forehead,

"Goodnight."
