Prison Guard

••Chapter 15••

I was currently sitting at a bench playing with my lanyard that read 'Visitor' as White Tiger, Power Man, Iron Fist, and Spider-Man trained for combat. I watched them use their powers and skills to the most, fighting against some skinny drones.

A loud alarm echoed around the facility along with red lights that flared everywhere. Ava stormed towards me, grabbed my arm and dragged me out of the training room.

"Wh...What's going on?" I asked as she dragged me along the hallways filled with agents that were suiting up and loading guns. "Just keep walking." She growled and continued 'walking', it was more like sprinting.

We reached our room and we all entered, "Pack your stuff." Peter said, taking off his mask and handing me a suitcase.

What is going on!

I quickly followed instructions and was done packing in less than a minute.... Its not like I had all of my belongings here. Peter put his mask back on and we all left the room.

"We can't get her out through the lobby." Power Man said. He was walking ahead of us along Iron Fist, White Tiger walked besides me, and Spider-man behind us.

"I know! I know! But he knows we are trying to get her out so he'll be blocking all the entrances!" Spider-man replied.

"What about the ones he doesn't know about." Iron Fist suggested . They all stopped suddenly, including me, and we all turned around and walked into a hallway we had just passed.

We walked into the training room and Ava dragged me to the center of the field. "We can't start it up, he'll know she's in here." Iron Fist said.

They all looked at Power man. Luke stepped forward and smashed both of his fists into the ground. He did it repeatedly until the floor gave away, revealing a dark hallway underneath.

Luke swung me over his shoulder and with no warning descended into the secret passageway by jumping down. The rest followed and they all ran, me still being carried by Power Man.

We came to a halt and Power man put me down. "This is our way out." Peter said getting closer to a reinforced door. "This will lead us to the sewers and then we'll just exit on one of the streets." Ava said. I nodded and we all crossed the door.

We reached an exit and Peter climbed up the ladder and removed the manhole cover. "Its clear!"  he said. "Your turn." Ava said, nudging me with her elbow. I swallowed and climbed up. As I was reaching the exit Peter extended a hand for me and I took it. When I was out side I straighted up and looked at Peter. "Thanks." I said

"No Probl...."

I saw as Peter was shot by some kind of blast right in front of my eyes. I turned to see where it came from. There was the guy who came to my house the other day, standing with some sort of laser gun. He aimed it at me and shot it. I shut my eyes and waited for the impact but it never came.

I opened my eyes and saw Power Man standing in front of me, it seemed like if he absorbed the power from the gun. "Run!" Ava yelled as she grabbed my arm and sprinted to the closest alley.

Just before I reached it the guy shot his gun directly at my feet. I fell and slid down the paved road. I felt as the little concrete rocks cut deep into my cheek.

I sat up and wiped the blood on my cheek as the guy closed up on me. "You will know me Kimbra." He said,"I am High Evolutionary."

He gave me his evil grin and aimed his gun at me once more. I looked around me and saw all the young heroes around me fallen and hurt, risking their life for me.
