"What exactly are we looking for?" Cole asked.
Stella had been quiet but she kept looking at me. I knew she wanted to say something about what just happened, but neither of us wanted Cole to know-at least not yet. I needed to know if I could trust Cole with what I was planning on doing.
"It's a box." I said. "I don't really remember what it looks like but I know it's here somewhere."
"It's in the coffin." Kane said. "You need to open it."
I looked over at the tomb that had a large cement top on it. We could try to push it but I didn't know if all three of us were strong enough to do it. I looked at Kane and rolled my eyes. Of course it would be in his stupid tomb.
"Where should be start looking?"
"We need to open his tomb. Maybe it's buried in there." I said to Cole.
Cole looked at me like I had gone crazy. Stella mirrored his look and I had to roll my eyes at them. They were acting like it was such a big deal. They were in for a surprise once they knew that Kane wasn't in there.
"You want us to open that thing?" Stella said. "Haven't you heard the stories of Kane Devereux? No way. We are not opening it."
"That stupid legend Camille told me about? Don't tell me you both actually believe in that stuff." I said.
"No, but..." Cole trailed off.
"Come one, you guys. Stop being so scared of everything. It's only a stupid coffin."
"I've never seen a..." Stella shuddered.
"We won't be able to open it. The stone is too heavy for the three of us to push."
I wanted to roll my eyes. I was pretty sure they could crack it or move it with magic, but they had to be cautious. Cole didn't have any clue that I knew about magic, but Stella was already in.
Cole looked around the area trying to find something to use. There would be nothing but the power of magic. I was excited to see how this would all turn out.
"Open it." I whispered to Stella.
"What? I'm not doing that." She said. "You don't know about Kane-"
"He's not in there." I said. "I swear."
Her eyes widened. "How do you know that?"
I smiled at her. "I'll tell you all about it if you open it."
"No." Stella said.
"There's nothing here-"
"Just open it." I said to Cole, cutting off whatever he was about to say.
"Right, how am I supposed to-"
"She knows." Stella told him.
The act was up. Cole needed to know and I would have to trust him. The fact that he was helping me had to count for something. I could see Kane giving me a disapproving look.
"What do you mean she knows?" Cole asked, confused.
"She knows about magic." Stella explained. "She has known all along."
"Actually, I recently made the discovery. Nice of all of you to tell me I'm a witch." I said, sarcasm dripping from my tone.
"You know." Cole looked at me in disbelief.
"Yes, I know. You two are the only ones who know that I do and I'd like to keep it that way."
"Is that why you brought us down here? So you could expose us?" Stella looked at me accusingly.
