"Sir. Devereux is looking at you again."

"Do not stare!" I scolded the woman next to me.

It was all so strange. It was like being in a dream, but it wasn't a dream. It was more like a memory. Everything looked so familiar but I had never seen it before.

The woman next to me sighed dreamily. "We would never stand a chance with a man like him."

"Athena, you are beautiful. He would be lucky to have a woman as bright as you are."

Even as the words left my mouth I didn't feel them in my heart. It was like seeing Kane for the first time. He looked handsome. He was dressed in silk from head to toe. The accessories to his clothing made it known he was a very wealthy man.

"Perhaps I should test my luck?" Athena said playfully.

I watched as she made her way towards Kane. He seemed to have been waiting for her. Her movements were seductive and I felt a small pinch of jealousy seeing how Kane flashed a warm smile at her, but then those eyes turned to me. It was like we had known each other for a thousand years.

I gasped and brushed the tears away frantically from my face. Cole had an arm around me holding me up. The box fell to my feet and I felt almost relieved.

"Are you okay?" Cole asked.

"I'm...fine." I choked out.

"What happened?" Stella asked.

"I don't know."

I looked around expecting to see Kane, but he wasn't around. He would have to explain later. He must have known what opening the box would do to me.

"We should really get out of here." Stella said. "Kane Devereux' body is giving me the creeps."

"That's not him." I said all too quickly.

"How do you know?"

"Gut feeling I guess." I shrugged. "You're right. We should get going."

"Are you good to stand on your own?" Cole asked.

I nodded and he didn't let go until he was sure I could stand on my own two feet. My body felt weak, but I felt fine for the most part. Cole was the first to start climbing up the rope. I wasn't sure if I was strong enough to climb up on my own.

"What aren't you telling me?" Stella asked in a whisper.

"What are you talking about?"

"How did you know all of this, and don't say you saw it in a dream?" Stella said. "I've been watching you. What aren't you telling us, Blaire?"

"Don't worry about it, okay?" I said, dismissively.

"No. Don't you dare do that. Tell me what the hell is going on. There's something else here."

"Not here." I told her.

"Promise you will tell me."

"Stella-"

"I won't help you in anything else."

"I promise I'll tell you, but not here."

"Fine."

Stella turned to reach for the rope once Cole was above ground. I looked at the box that was still on the ground. I didn't even check to see if the stone was there.

I picked up the box and slowly opened it. Inside there was a small stone big enough to fit in the palm of my hand. It was clear stone with just a small amount of black and grey swirling in the middle.
