Breathe - A Grounding Exercise

Have you ever been so happy you cried?

Picture that moment.
Hold on to it.

Now breathe.

Relive it as if it were yesterday.

Breathe again.

In for 5.
Out for 5.

Again.
Again.
One more time.

Remember that moment in your head.
Feel the emotions.

Breathe.

In for 5.
Out for 5.
Now smile.
You're okay.

Author's Note

Hey loves! I know I already updated once tonight, but I have a whole store of older poetry in my phone that I can't wait to get out there! I'm still writing new stuff almost every day, but I want to get the old stuff out first. Anyway, this is a grounding exercise that I wrote back in January.  I love this one particularly, because... Well I don't know why, but I do, so I'm posting it anyway because it's old! I wrote this while I was having a panic attack. My friend edgeloaf said something to me, and it gave me inspiration. I didn't know what was being put on the paper until I came out of the panic attack and read through it. Even in chaos, something beautiful emerges. That just gave me inspiration for a poem. Well, back at it, I suppose! Goodnight loves!
