LEXI'S P.O.V
"Um hi Roy. What are you doing here?" I ask. I really need to get rid of him and fast. I have to find Nikki.
"Oh, I just wanted to see how you were doing but it seems like I caught you on the way out?" His sentence trails off into a question. I turn to see Xavier holding two small duffel bags. I though he had come with me to see who was at the door but I guess he quickly packed.
"I'm sorry be there's been an emergency and we have to leave for a couple of week. Ber- I mean, my mom will call the school tomorrow. Don't worry, I'm fine." I say all the while slowly inching my way outside and closing the door behind me.
"Well I actually also came by to see if you would like to hang out. I could give you a tour of the city or something but I can see you guys are on the way to the airport right now." Roy continues.
"Yeah, ask me again when we get back." I say not even registering that Roy had basically asked me out until we had driven away, leaving a weirded out Roy standing in Bertha's driveway.
We arrive at the airport in record time and manage to get tickets to a plane headed east. Nikki didn't tell me where exactly she was, so once the plane was in the air, I went to the bathroom to do a location spell. Halfway through my chanting someone starts knocking hysterically on the door. Knowing it's a lost cause, I open the door and let a woman with a toddler come in. Even without my over sensitive senses, I would have been able to smell the stink coming of the child.
"Xavier, can you cast a cloaking spell and sound proof me." I ask. I really need to do the locator spell. Xavier nods and I get to work again. The drop of blood I put on the map starts moving toward the east coast. It stops on North Carolina. I pull an atlas and flip over to North Carolina. I repeat the process again and the drop of blood goes towards the ocean. It stops around a town called Fayetteville. Just as I'm about to end the spell the little kid behind us starts talk to his mom. "Mommy, that girl in front of us cut herself and put blood on a map. Then the blood moved!"
"Sweetie, look at her she's sleeping." The mom says with a bit of annoyance in her voice. I could see the faint outline of the projection, so I quickly put the map away and got into the same position that the image was in. Xavier lifted the spell and turned to wink at he kid behind us. I 'woke' up then and whispered to Xavier where we had to heard to next.
A few hours later the final plane touches down in Fayetteville. We hail a taxi. I had done another location spell in the bathroom a few minutes ago with a map of Fayetteville to get the exact location of where she was. I give the driver the directions and he looks as me funny.
"Miss are you sure that's the right address?" The taxi driver asks me.
"I'm positive, why?"
"You must be loaded." He mutters under his breath.
"Why would you say that?" Xavier intervenes.
"That place is huge and freaky." With that the driver doesn't speak anymore. A few hours of intense traffic later, we finally arrive. It looks like Dracula's home. I snicker under my breath before walking up to the door. I can't tell the driver is watching, wondering what will happen next. Alex opens the door looking all happy, but when he saw Xavier in the background his face fell slightly.
"Sorry, I thought it was your sister. She called you didn't she?" He asks. I nod. I was so happy to see him. I had been worried sick. Sure I had my mate with me, but that didn't mean I didn't miss my friends and sister.
"No that's fine. I don't know why the locator spell sent me here instead to her." I let him know just then I heard tires screech and I turn to see the taxi driver speeding off. Xavier walks up to where I'm standing with Alex.
